L/R channels overall load and normalizing question

Post by eyesofra »

hi guys,
yesterday ,i measured the overall resistance seen by the rsd250.2 in trunk that's feedind a pair of rsd65cs on front doorpanel.

the DMM , showed ;
left channel - 4.7ohms
right channel - 5.7 ohms

this includes the wiring from the amp all the way to the crossover and then into the doorpanel, and of course it includes the resistance of the 65cs pair as well.

Now, the thing is do i need to compensate for the variation in the load seen by the amp.

I calculated the rsds for 100w per channel for a output voltage of 20V which translates into a of current of 5A at 4Ohms.
for 1 Ohm , we have a voltage drop of ; 5A*1ohms = 5V at the right ch.

so should i reduce a 5v of the calculated 20v output on the left channel to balance the output levels of both ???
( I had the balance on HU or the SLD in mind to adjust the individual channels using the DMM method)

Or should i not worry bout this ???, pls assist guys... :doh:

Is there any noticeable difference in sound levels??

If so, then reduce to louder of the two sides, if not, fuggedaboutit.

:D ......yeah , the more numbers i see , the more complicated the entire thing becomes. I'll keep it simple guys...
thanks for that...
