aux out signals

Post by gixerboy »

i wonder if anyone can advise on this problem
ti500.4 running 1`5" fronts off passive and 9" rear band pass
i want to run a bandpass signal from the ti500 to my genesis bigfour
pic attached
one side of the bigfour will run another set of 1`5" and i want the bandpass signal to run another set of 9" this is important as the genesis will be running the front end and the 500 running the rears
any help would be great

Send HP out the aux of the Ti to the input of the Gen, and set the Gen to LP...you'll basically get a BP signal.

That should work - I forgot if the 4 ch ti amp puts out a hp/lp with the internal BP configured...but you can try it out

The high out of the ti defines the high of the MB and the LP of the Gen defines the low end of the MB.

I hope that makes sense

Hot amp BTW

Those are beautiful hand made amps. smgreen posted this recently:

Sorry, I know this doesn't help you any, but I thought it worth taking another look at.

On the Ti500.4 set the "3RF" dial in the "3" position. On the rear channel Config switch set it at full Counter clockwise, this will send the LP signal to the rear speaker outs and the BP signal to the AUX out.

This manual has more info than the Ti500.4 but it is the same amp essentially. ftp://208.187.38.55/Phoenix_Gold/Manual ... manual.pdf
I think we've established that "Ka Ka" and "Tukki Tukki" don't work.

cheers people, that always baffled me why the 500.4 manual wasnt the same as the 475
Errin,
so you suggest to run the 9" lp instead of bandpass(will they be ok)????
but what if i only have 1 set of rca`s available to go into the 500.4???
will the front rca`s do all the work on there own????

Well I do not suggest to run them LP but do to the lack of option that's all you can really do with the 500.4 since the rear channels are configure the AUX out. The only other thing I could suggest would be to place the 3RF switch in the F position this will provide the same input signal to both front and rear and then you can cross from there however you can not bandpass the Aux out in this fashion unless you are already sending a crossed signal in or crossing after the fact.
I think we've established that "Ka Ka" and "Tukki Tukki" don't work.

I think I may know a way...

1 ) Run signal input into REAR of amp
2 ) Set rear crossover to HP 200Hz for your components
3 ) Set rear config switch to HP/LP
4 ) Input select R
5 ) Get a set of Y-splitters, take from the aux-out and feed directly into the front.
6 ) Highpass on the front of the amp at 60Hz for your midbass
7 ) Run other part of the Y split to the genesis amp
8 ) Highpass on the genesis amp at 60Hz for the other set.

Voila. A little unconventional, but it should work.
