mps-2500

Post by j rude »

Hello all. I just found this forum while searching for info. I have been looking around the house for stuff to sell to fund a new project and found this amp I completely forgot I had. I bought it new ,used it for about a year then put it away when i couldnt fit it in my new car. How do these compare to modern amps? how many watts do they put out? I dont remember what I paid for it back in the day but I know it was a lot. What is the approx. value of it? Thanks

the old ms and mps amp are over hyped POS. who would ever need a 1/2 ohm stable amp with a shit load of headroom and nice clean power. But I would give you $100 to help a new member out or trade you a quality amp like a Jensen. Just if you decide to use it change the caps. Lol

I know it was a quality piece otherwise I would not have paid big bucks for it. But that was about 20 years ago and I havent kept up with car audio technology over the years. Why do I need to change the caps? The serial # is 250137. I almost said it was 250387 after searching to figure out why the number was important but figured that was a little too cruel. Thanks for the input.

Haha Great amp J rude , I have a few MS-Mps amps myself . Everytime I see one up for sale I feel inclined to buy it no matter the condition . In great condition you probably get a decent price for it , if you decide to sell . Without knowing your skill-set , if you are interested in service I recommend Valeks here on the Phorum . Quality work and an excellent turn around .
