If you want to sound great for really cheap, the RSD components sound superb. The tweeter and midrange is nearly on par with the Elites, while they have much more midbass and are more forgiving (so you could install them in doors if you wanted).

If you're looking for something more competition grade, then DLS is certainly reputable, though I haven't got any personal experience with them. Have you had a look at Seas products? They make excellent high grade speakers.

I can't recommend the RSDs for uber high end enthusiasts because I know there's more elite stuff out there but from personal experience, they sound pretty damn good. The midbass is most excellent.

Absolutely agree. And they can handle TONS of power. We both speak from first hand experience.

I had the ultimate iridium 3 ways...kinda like my old school ADS' better, its a little more lifelike. The DLS do sound great, its a little too mellow for my taste.
