I just picked this one up. The seller said it was part of a system that was already installed in a car he bought back in the 90's. He thought the amps had been repainted, but it appears the silk screening is factory (and not stickers). Has anyone seen one like this? Any possibilities it was created like this at the factory?

screw car audio, I'd rather go fast....errr, wait a minute.
Re: Purple/Plum/Burgundy MPS-2240?
yea that was when you could tell them to paint it pink polka dotted and they woulda said sure. More then likely a 1-off customer requested piece.
what else can I say I am a grumpy asshole most of the time.

Thanks for the info guys . According to the seller, there is one more of these 2240's out there as he sold another exactly like this many years ago (pulled from the original system).

Re: Purple/Plum/Burgundy MPS-2240?
99% sure that was done at the factory. They didn't powdercoat the inside of the heatsink where the big transistors attach to it, which is good. Most people powdercoat the whole thing.

That thing is NICE....
