Zen9 Questions

Post by J.Wright »

Well fellow PG nuts.... I'm thinking about placing an order for the Zen9... I know it's still a number of months out but good things are worth the wait...

Problem is I just don't know much about the Zen9, short of what I've read at the CES debut.

Does the PG Phorum members have more info on this Limited Edition amplifier ?

Thanks !

We don't know a lot of details other than the power ratings so far. Internals are still a mystery. I wouldn't be surprised if they are still tweaking with it.

I posed some detailed questions to PG, thought I would share the response provided:

A few answers for you on ZEN9.
Are any of the channels Class A biased ?
Currently no.

Which Sanken devices are used ?
Sanken T03P 6011, 160w, 20mHz devices

Are the rated power figures at 12v or 14v ?
14v. Amplifier will do 5 to 15% more power than its official rating.

What are the suggested fuse ratings for the amplifier ?
200amps is tentative fuse value

Are channel pairs bridgeable ?
Yes, each set of channels can be bridged. Except the woofer its is a single channel.

Elites are big battle axes. Great for pure audiophile guys, but not most convenient amplifiers in the world to put in a car. ZEN9 gives you a TON of flexibility, superb SQ and tailored towards a one amp solution with mostly likely a DSP upstream.

I'm really debating the Zen9.... looks to be a great solution for an "all-in-one" amplifier...

I've had old school PG, loved them.... I had Elite amplifiers, loved them....

Yes it does. I am not going to wait that long to re-do my install. Time to put some Outlaws to use.

There's a strike? What's the union for electronics parts manufacturers?

I'd rather they wait then rush it to market with sub-par parts in it. June is t that far away.

I was gonna say from the dock workers strike. All importing into and exporting out of the US was put on hold for 4-6months. My company JBS was affected drastically cause 66% of our sales were effected. Espicially since jbs is the sole supplier of grass fed beef for chipoltli, some chains ran out cause all of thier beef comes from australia

better be as I have been to my dealer 3 times to try and put money down and they know absolutely diddly about it. When its available?Price? anything really... I have left my number 3 times now in the past 8 months if they did her anything and never did get a call back. Hell if there is a dealer taking orders let me know and I will call him to see if he will take an order....
what else can I say I am a grumpy asshole most of the time.

Please post some photos of the amp if you get a chance. I would be nice to see what one looks like "out in the wild".
