Cleaning my ms1k

Post by xinfexiousx »

First and foremost hello from Florida. I have lurked around here a bit in the last year but just joined this evening. Thanks for having me. :D

I have several pg items but recently I have come into possession of an original nickel ms1k. That's the good news. The bad news is that it has been pretty neglected. It was missing the cover and apparantley has been for quite some time. I found it just about as dirty as you could imagine. I have made a cover and begun to clean it up best I can. My question is.. What would everyone suggest using to clean away heavy grime and/or corrosion from the boards? It will eventually be getting a full recap and tune up but in the meantime I'd like to get it as clean as possible.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! TIA!

I have used denatured alcohol thus far and it did well for removing a lot of it. It won't remove some of the gunk however.
