The new 6 groove alternator pulley I had to have machined to match the pg alt and my mustangs pulley system should be back from powder any day now. I did a final polish of the fan and I think it would be cool to either sandblast a logo/design on it for a satin look or possibly put one of my vintage decals to use finally. What do you think? I am leaning towards a simple etched surfboard or just the word logo(I would need to get the negative portion of the decals I don't have now done to do this) but I can't help but have a soft spot for the "Team" logo, the rcas and gotta love the "no limits" version which would fit this build well. The fan is on top of the motor and easily seen.

I think a decal would probably look kind of tacky, especially with the level of work you have so far put into everything. It just seems that it will look out of place. Add to that, that I doubt a decal will live a very long life in the engine bay in a fairly hot location and spinning at several thousand RPMs all the time...

I personally would make a stencil and sand blast it. I think it will look the best. I too am partial to the old PG logos, I would do one of those before I would do the surfboard.

Good Luck,
Jason

that is pretty much how I felt. Its funny I have had these for years now and been wanting to find the perfect spot for them. The etched logo will also be really subtle and I love stuff like that. I will need to shrink it a little and get a negative but I think it would be worth it.

Scott, I have all of those in vector format, you are welcome to what you need. That should make it easy to scale and you could cut stencils from vinyl. PM me with an email address and I will send you what I can when I get home tonight.

Later,
Jason

after some thought I realized I would need to pay someone to sandblast the logo or buy the stuff to do it myself. After some thought I remembered you can chemically etch aluminum (with garage parts for free) and by doing this I could make it as subtle as I wanted or I could actually etch the logo down into it to where you would certainly see it and could feel it if you touched it. I am torn because again I was at first thinking subtle but if it was etched cleanly down it would be another nice custom detail.

I am fairly sure you can use a vinyl decal to mask/resist the etching to make a really exact etch but I am asking in the comments of the vid. so subtle or deep? I can't decide. I found this metal surfboard logo that I used as a better example for size and how it would look etched.

Scott, I was pretty well shot last night and didn't get on my computer when I got home. I'll try to email you them soon, my day shift 12s are super busy though, so it might be a few days. I'll try not to forget, but if I do, don't hesitate to remind me.

Later,
Jason
