So I bought a 2016 sonata ultimate edition
It has the infinity system
Crappy 8" sub in the rear
Everything is through the oem deck and dash speedo cluster so I will not remove the deck
I would love to add a 12" or a crazy 10" sub sealed smaller box in the rear corner or a couple shallow 8"jl in a sealed box on the back deck

Now what to use for a line level to rca
I would like to keep it simple and off a audison lrx. 400 amp
Lmk guy I have a set of elite 12d4 I can trade ect
I own the amp and car.

Yea I knew the idea that it was good enough and you would leave it alone wasn't something to bet on. Have you looked to see if anyone makes an easy to install sub system specifically for that car? If not I would aim for a 10 imo 8s are ok if that is all the space you have but they have always left me wanting a little more low end then they could offer.

12" IB setup? I've never done one but it sounds cool.

I put dual IB 12s in my mom's car several years ago (1999), and it still sounds great to this day. One of the best sounding (bass wise) systems I have heard. But, it won't be winning any SPL competitions.

So whats the trick to picking out an exceptional IB subwoofer? I do know that not all are created equal...

Ib 12 are nice but deep top to bottom if I did a shelf I would loose a bunch of the trunk space I need with my family

I might have to stick with my 2 arua bass shakers..lol
I would love to find 2 or 3 jl 8w3. and make a small sealed shallow box for the back deck lid take the old out cut a little metal and put the large grill over and ad the amp with a bass knob I have kids so I can't have alot of bass when they are in the car

the bass shakers are neat but it always bugged me you still need an amp to drive them.

Ok crap I am going to take out my 8inch sub leave it as a port into the car
I will try the jl 10tw1 x1 or 2 not sure yet one per side in the rear
I will be sell the audison lrx amps 2.250 and 1.400 and find a class d amp with line level and smaller to hide in the xar with a bass knob and call it a day
I picked up one 10tw1 today so we will see I guess I could also port them but this will many months away
Need to save some funds
