Custom, anyone?

Post by vwdude »

First up, I got an m50 off eBay that was DOA. Turns out the rail caps were done. Did a recap with filter and rails and the amp sounds beautiful.

Then I decided to approach the cosmetics. I remember Itchi bought a badass black M44 off eBay several years back and I liked how that looked, so I copied it.

Next up, I bought a bunch of amps that had been chromed but never got graphics. My graphics guy wasn't sure if he could do chrome so we had to try...

And lastly, I'm restoring a frank amp n' stein. Matt Hyde could do the powder coating but he wasn't able to do graphics as they won't show up on black background. Not a problem for my graphics guy. Also, when I got my amp the guy refused to send the matching crossover. Not a problem, I like the mx3i better anyway.

The M50 really looks great!

Love the black one. The chrome is nice looking too! How does your graphics guy do this? Wjat kind of process does he use? Did he do the black painting or did you rattle can it? What kind of cost is it to get this done?

Thanks
