Ti2 1600.5 AND ELITE 2

Post by robro »

Have any of you guys mixed and match the Ti series with the Elite Series. I have a 1600.5, which I want to run my mids on the dash and tweeter, and the add an elite 2 for the midbass driver. I know I should have used the Elite 5, but I went with the 1600.5 first, so I already have it installed.

I don't know if going this way would make me have to adjust my stock charging system, but I sure would like to give this a try.

woah you already have a ti3? or did you mean ti2?

you can mix and match all you want. just so you know, the ti2 was made in china and designed in the USA, the elite line was designed and made in Korea (I assume South lol). Other than the same brand name, they have very little in common. That doesnt mean you cant mix and match. The bigger issue would be that the elite.2 is class AB, and the 1600.5 is all class D. ITs not an issue, but they might have very different sounds.

All of that said, try it. ive seen people mix and match brands, power, amp class...doesnt matter as long as you like how it sounds.
A few of these and a few of those.

Last I knew the North Korean amplifiers have not caught up to the rest of the world's performance. They will get there though. And for now, each one includes a free missile guidance system...

If I may ask, how do you like the Ti2 1600.5? I am thinking about getting one to put into my wifes car as an all in one type unit to run my Ti2 12D2 sub and a set of components up front (possibly some Focal Flax's or something). I currently have an Alpine PDXV-9 sitting around that I may use instead but would like to hear some real user opinions of the 1600.5. Thanks.
