no, it was one of those "POOF" its gone kinda tricks..... I took it out so that I could move it, and now I have the retaining ring, the washer and the knob but the remote itself seems to have just disappeared......

Hmmm...weird....at least it's a not a poof of magic smoke and such...

So maybe you will find it!?

I do have one of jason's original first gen remotes if you need...(I don't NEED it at the moment...) It was a spare....as he has another one he is working on for me as a special deal.

if my head were not attached I would need wood screws........

It is almost funny as just that morning I found the sticker to the rmd that I had been looking for for almost a month. It was strange as it was exactly where I thought I had left it, and where I know I had check 2 times before...... It is almost like I traded it for the bass-cube remote.

At this point I have cleaned the truck, vaccume and looked in ever crevice of it. I cleaned up my garage to the point that I could not find my dremel today..... And now tonight I straightened up in the kitchen and like I said I still have the retaining ring, washer and knob as I normally seem to misplace them, not the remote.

If you have an extra remote I will paypal you tonight if you can part with it........ I have the amp powered up now and would love to hear the difference that it would make.

I just pm'ed ttocs, I have 15 un-assembled remotes left. I will hopefully have time this week yet to put some together.

Steve, did I ever send you one of the new ones? I can't remember now. I know I am working on a TI case for you-- come to think of it, I may have time to cut it today...

Later,
Jason

At least its just a remote that you can replace cheaply I lost my $85 snap on ratchet screwdriver in my house the other day and have looked everywhere for it.

JAson....to be honest...I DONT remember if you did or not...But I remember you shipping something to me...after the FIRST Bass Cube mote...so you probably did...and I too have seemed to misplace the SECOND one...heh(or the one real close to the original)....

So if you say you did...I believe you...I just seemed to have misplaced or.....have put it with the "original" cube motes and probably got it confused!? not sure...hehe...I'll have a look again later today.

And Ttocs, I do have that spare one that was made by Jason that is not physically the shape of the originals.
Let me know if you are interested...I'll sell the same price as Jason sells his for....

Well, I cut a case for your today Steve. It came out great, I even engraved a little PG surfboard logo in it. Only problem with it, once I bent it 90° like the factory bracket, I realized that it is a mirror image of the damned factory bracket and will not work--soooooo... Any chance you would be happy with aluminum for the case instead of the Ti metal? I cut this bracket out of the bottom of a case that you sent, I think it was a tbat or something, but the rest of the ti metal all either has screens or dimples on it. Honestly, the ti finish did not survive the machining and clean up afterword. After I knocked all of the burs off it, I was down to raw steel...

Let me know, it won't be hard to mirror the cad work and punch it out the right way...

Jason

I will get a picture soon. I am back at work now, and it looks like I am going to be working 8 12 hour midnights straight. Yeah me!

The thing is, it would not have been mirrored if I had not tried to get clever and engrave the pg logo. What happened, is basically, the logo was engraved on the back side of the mount. When I made the bend, I made it with the logo out. The rest of the layout was made from measurements off the back of the bracket, so when I bent it with the logo out, I basically bent it in the wrong direction. If I had bent it the right way, it would have been fine, but the logo would have been inside...

Anyhow, aluminum would be much easier to work with. You did give me quite a bit of metal, but the only flat bits are the upper housing from a bass cube w/ all the screen on it ( I can cut it out of this if you like, but removing the screen will also remove the finish as the screen is under the clear coat) and the lower housing of some TI crossover. You actually sent a complete cross over case, so I hate to cut it up in case someone needs it one day...

If I do aluminum, I can put a grain in it on the belt sander, and it should be a pretty close match to Ti finish, and it will never rust...

It's cool, use aluminum...I'll live!

Thanks, and soon. I have a bunch of cube remotes that just need the boards finish drilled, populated and soldered. I am hoping to put together 5 more or so in a while, but I am swamped again. My wife and I are trying to sell out house, and so far that seems to be eating up 90% of my time off work....

Gawd damn it! I just realized looking at the pics, that now the PG is upside down if you mount the bracket under the dash. Maybe I should just stick with a simple factory replacement???

ttocs, I still have you on wait for a remote. I will let you know when I get some made up.

So, since I am going to redo it yet again, do you want me to just leave the mister fancy pants logo that has been tripping me up off there, or I can flip the logo too...

Do you think you will be happy with the aluminum, or do you want me to cut up one of the good ti cases. I told you before I don't really have any use for the ti metal, but I thought I would hold onto the complete one in case someone needs it. It is your call.

I don't really care either way...I like the look of both of them. If you can get the logo on it...cool...If not...no worries. I'll survive without the logo...but I sure think it would be pretty sweet with it on there! :)
If you want to hold onto the cases then hold onto it...I can live with Aluminum. But If you don't mind or could think of some good uses for the Ti steel for other things and have some spare steel...I down too. Again I dont need it to be.
