IMHO 150 x 2 would be plenty!

i think the 150 by 2 would be good, however i run one set of ti6.5s(mid only ) bridged off of my 500.4(250by 2, and they handle them NO PROBLEM! so, maybe go with more power for more headroom- my opinion though, btw, did they arrive today???

its weird, b/c the min. rms to the ti 5s or 6.5s is 75 watts, when i hook them up to my 600.2 at 150 by 2, i can make them bottom out, but once i put 250 on 'em, they PURRR...., like a kitten(that sucks, well, let me know when u get them-Christian

Probaly because with the 600.2 he was trying to listen to them @ 200wattsx2 when the music peaked and was clipping the amp, but with the 500.4 he had the headroom for the peaks in his music. Something like that anyway.

Headroom does not come from not having enough power. Quite the opposite. If 'headroom' is really what you meant.

I run 400 w/chnl to mine.

What I ment was that with 150x2 he didn't have the power he wanted so he was probaly clipping his amp to get it. with 250x2 he solved his problem by creating a buffer between his optimal listening level and the amps maximum power output, ie "headroom"

 oops .. sorry I missed that. I'm a slow typer and get distracted easily before I can finish a post. Anyway, I was responding to your 4th post.

And yes, I agree with your analogy of thedeal's situation. Which will most likely be your situation .. trying to keep up with 2 - 1200's!

Yeah, i think if i cross the mibass and subs just right i might trick myself into thinking i don't need another pair of Ti9s. I had 2 pairs of the crappy SSMB8s and because the higher frequencies are louder, take less power to reproduce and tuned to my cars natual resonace, I was okay. I'm hoping that by throwing more power on one pair of 9s i'll be fine. I doubt it though. we'll have to wait and see.....
