Hover over the photo you want to post and go down and click on "Direct Link" in the pop up that occurs when you hover over an image. It should say "copied" meaning it copied the link to the photo into your clipboard.

After that, paste the link between two img tags like this:

Code: Select all

Do that for every photo you want to post directly to the phorum.

That's just the link to the album, you need to do that with the full link to each photo.

v1 with the wire going out of it didn't have the same 14.4 volt power as the one with the screws
I remeber see it back in 94 when I owned it than 3 years later got the other and there was a differnt rating
think it was like 100 rms bridged and the newer was 140rms
something like that
most of my gear is gone :liar:

It would be a good idea to replace those rail caps simply for the fact they are ~15 years old. Looks like a bunch of the other electrolytics have already been replaced.

I would say replace any of the caps that are poking up and out of their sheathing. That includes that little one next to the rail caps.

Upgrading to Series 2 involves replacing the power transformer. You can contact PG Support and see if we still have any in stock, its part number 9005.0035. If you get one I can help you with the rest of the upgrade.

it looks like your rail caps say 4700Uf @25volts?( those are the bigger blue ones-) they, and the smaller power caps should be inexpensive to replace- there are only 2of each, so it shouldnt be too hard-i think alot of guys on here order from a place called digikey, parts express, i order from newark, cuz they ship outta south carolina, and i live in fla, so its usually @ my door in 2 days-i would ask roland if u can upgrade to 4700Uf @50v, instead of the 25v??????????? but, ask him first, cuz mayb thats related to the upgrade??? nice old amp though :)
as she walked out the door she expressed, 'enjoy your amp addiction'

Increasing the voltage rating will not accomplish anything, and just make the capactiors too large to fit in the case. He can get 5600uf at 25v in the same size from Digikey.

increasing voltage will make the cap less effective at the voltage it will be opperating at, so if you double voltage you wanna double capasitance. it's common to see higher voltage caps being used in these amps these days but the capasitance technology has shot up over the years so your able to get large numbers in the same package.
