I am running two Ti1000.2 for my subs.. ( JBL Gti W12 MkII ) and i do believe that this amp are rated 1000watt bridge @ 4 ohm ?

My question is..

The ti1200.1 is rated 1400 watt @ 2 ohm .. why is the Ti1000.2 not rated in 2 ohm bridged ( i would say its about 2000watt ) ?

Theese amps are confusing me.. ( never thourght that i should ask about this )

Last question though..

Witch Amp is most powerfull @ 2 ohm bridged... ? am i right saying 1000.2 ?

You should see about the same or a little more bridged outta the 1000.2 vs. the 1200.1 as the manual states that minimum bridged load is 2ohm, but the amp will run a little warmer than bridged at a 4ohm load. I ran several 1000.2's at 2ohm bridged and saw about 1500 - 1600wrms and the 1200.1 will see about the same, but each amp will have a different a output level as PG way under rates the amps at 12.5 - 12.8v vs. most of the amps today rated at 14.4v with a healthy electrical system and no voltage drops. Attached is the manual for both amps and you may want to pm / email Valeks1 as he's the local PG repair info expert.

Then again, why build a Ti1200.1 when then 1000.2 is more powerfull?

Many newbies would rather buy the " bigger watts stated on label " than any lower one´s like the 1000.2

i do have 14.4 volt when we are at shows, cus of the 70AMP micro processed charger supply!
this is truely the best thing about shows, there is 230volt power ( european voltage ) available. so maybe the Ti1000.2 should manage to give me about 2000watts ?

I was at Walmart earlier and was looking at the Kicker amps for lulz and started reading the specs on the back of the box. RMS power was rated at 250 watts x 1 at 15.6 Volts. Nobody that would buy that amp will be feeding it 15.6 Volts. Hell, I can choose my voltage level and I keep it under 15 by choice.

The 1200.1 will stay cooler and have much more headroom at 2 ohms than a bridged 1000.2. Internally they are similar amps... the 1200.1 is still a stereo amp (bridged internally), although it is geared for more current at lower rail voltages than the 1000.2. For a 2 ohm mono load, I would pick a 1200.1, if possible.

Ya.. but my subs are 6 ohm . ( JBL GTI W12 mkII )

Therefore im currently running the 1000.2 bridged, this should be 3 ohm. therefore no worry´s about low impedans.
Subs are hooked up parallel internal.

Did install a 1200.1 Ti in my allround car, and im telling you guy´s, this amp is rocking hard!

I know this post is a little old but I wanted to provide a little knowledge about the competitions we had in the 90s. Everything was about your wattage category you were in. All SlamJam competitions hosted by PG and their distros had 3 wattage categories. They were rated at 12volt ratings. I always was in the first category running 6 12" PG XS 124s with a PG ZX500 which was rated at 150 watts (83 Toyota Corolla sedan). The maximum was 0 to 200 for the lowest, followed by 200-400 and then 400+ (I know the overlapped but that's they way they called them, of course 201 would put you into the middle).

So that's why PG had the unregulated amps with only the 12volt ratings for back then, the 3rd year I was going for 12 12" XS 124s (yes it was a TIGHT fit for all 12 but I got the box built and still a 2 seater), which I didn't get completely finished building the whole system. PG stopped the SlamJams in 1998 here. Only dB Drag Racing was being run now, hich sucked cuz SlamJams would give $200 a show for first and finals first $1000. dB Drag Racing then that year was about woofer size per square inch so my system would have been killed with only 150 watts. Thus why now you don't really see the 12 volt under-ratings being used.
