Just a small comparison.

Listened to Chimaira's "Split"

All Gains were set using the DMM method.
Setup as follows:

HU: Eclipse CD8455
HU doing all the EQ/Xover

Sub setup stayed the same through all 3.
ZPA0.5- 800 wrms to a TREO 12.22 12" sub wired in series for 4 ohms.

ZPA0.3 pushing the comps in all 3 tests.
Dyns- 200 wrms
RSDs- 150 wrms
Elites- 225 wrms

No other processing was used.

As I've already done a review of the 3, I wanted to further update.
All around I choose the Elites hands down.
This is my opinion and my prefrences only.

The DSRs are def the best bang for the buck in the group w/o a doubt. Good sound all throughout the song. It's been a while since I've heard the RSDs and the Dyns so it's memory only for those 2.

I don't know what to say about them that hasn't been said yet.

The Dyns were great in the mid range section and the tweeter was the best I've ever heard. The only downfall to this set was that they were to laid back for my taste. I had to twist the diode/resistor???? in the Xover to keep the tweets from getting "soft". What I mean by that is at a certan point they would get to hot and that part I had to twist would do its job and lower the sound of the tweet to protect it. Other than that, they were awsome.

The Elites, What can't I say. Love them. They can take the power that the others couldn't and it sounded as if they'd take more. I'm giving them 225 wrms compared there 300 wrms. So yeah, they can take more. The volume goes up to 80 and at 72 they were screaming blissfully. Not one bit of distortion could I hear. In fact, the sub couldn't keep up to their volume. I suppose I could turn the gain up a bit more on the ZPA0.5 as it'll do at least 1100 wrms@ 4 ohms. The sub is rated at 750, so I don't want to go to far over board. The low end was great, crossed over at 63Hz @24dB/Oct, same as the sub, but low passed. The tweets were very detailed at that level. BTW, the Xover setting on the tweets are at -2dB.
The mid played low w/o a sweat. Very clear at that level as well. I'd prefera bit more umph out of the mid in the 70Hz range, but I don't want to add any EQing to it there.

Over all, I've never heard anyones system this clean sounding at that volume. I was probably in the 138 dB region. Imaging was good, but the heigth needed to be a bit higher. Hopefully through the winter I can get my doors done and that should improve it.

Here's a video I just made. It's a quick 5 minute ordeal.

Sweet video Mike... You seem like a pretty chill guy. 8)

I think that is the first set of non-obscene aftermarket headlights I've seen on your truck. There are some reaaaally really ugly projector kits out there.

The damage on your truck doesn't look nearly as bad as I thought! I guess that's why folks get trucks in the first place.

It's my intention to do another video Saturday. As I look at myself, it's too dark. I'll take another shot at it in the day light.

Yeah, there is a lot of movement to it, but it's so well controlled.

Tom, That's the true me. A bit "Off the rocker" you might say. I try to act "Childish" when I can, but when it's not the right time for it, I step up to what it takes. Trying to have fun in life, w/all the bills and problems that the world is having.

The truck looks a lot better now after pulling the bumper back out and putting in the OEM tail lights. That helps conseal that broken piece and some of the paint. To see what it looked like w/the smashed tail light in and after rewireing the tail light wires, yeah, it doesn't look so bad now.

I've seen a few different head lights myself. Some members on www.denalitrucks.com turned my attention to the set I have.

Here's the updated video. Not so much updated as it is a better quality video due to the lighting.
