We got a little snow up here, so I got a chance to try the Bridgestone Blizzak W60s out. Wow. Its like having the Grand Theft Auto handling cheat on in real life.We got about a foot or so of snow and don't plow or salt because of the environment. So I drove about 30 miles in back country no-help-in-sight, up hills, down curvy 7% down grade 15 mile per hour, drop off to your right hills, and around maybe 20 spin outs and 25 people stuck in ditches (most of them 4 wheel drive SUVs and trucks). All at 40 miles per hour on average. I was passing incredulous Jeep Wranglers with chains on, up hill. Stopping was not a problem. Its almost like driving on dry ground but not quite.

Buy them.

$620 at sears-parts and labor.

I have the WS-50 which is a lot more aggressive and I agree with your review. The things are amazing. I am a firm believer that the tires are not only the most important safety feature on your vehicle, but they also dictate a large percentage of performance...whether its speed, off-road, winter driving, etc....

I feel the same about the 36" Iroks I have on my Jeep. When I was in Moab, lots of people asked what I was running as far as gearing and lockers...and when I told them it was a stock X with just the tires for the most part, they were stunned. The things stick to the rocks like crazy....and they do fine in the snow too.

Happy winter driving....I better get my Blizzaks on the VW here soon....

I bought my first set of winter tires at the beginning of this winter. also the hakka's.. it was definately between the blizzaks and hakka's, and i'm sure anybody would be happy with either set. I'm just surprised I actually got to try them out in the same winter as I bought them.
