^^^good tip. and after you do that, carefully monitor the filler as it's drying. then sand before it completely hardens while it is in a clay-like stage. it'll gum up your sandpaper, but sand very effortlessly.

THAT IS HUGE, saves about 2 days of work when I sand.

yeah brian a hand planar or "cheese grater" works well in this stage, but i always hesitate to recommend this to the rookies because they tend to over do it and then have to re-fill their mistakes.
