Austrias most exciting Hot Rod

Post by joerg »

A friend of our racing team just started his Hot Rod for the very first time, since he´s working on it, last week. It´s quite hard to explain what it is and i´ll never get licensed for street use over here but that´s by far the coolest Rod i´ve ever seen. But take a look at his youtube video yourself:

I haven't watched the whole video yet...but probably an airplane? :D

Theoretically, if you know the right people, I bet you can get them for next to nothing. They are only good in an airplane for so many hours of use, then they are basically junk. The key is catching them before they get scrapped or sent off to somewhere that tears them down to rebuild new ones.

I dig this man. Its so hard to do anything that hasn't been done before, but at least they put some style into what they're doing. A guy that puts on a big race/event for the cars I've been into recently put a 41 Willys Coupe body on an Evo 8 chassis. That's the future of hot rodding, mark my words, crazy ass shit like this radial car or turbo 4s. You just can't run a high horsepower big displacement motor as a working class person anymore, at least not long enough to have any fun. $4+ a gallon ruined it. I can't even imagine building something around a race gas tune anymore. I think my friends pay more for a few gallons of C20 for a Saturday at the track than they do to fill the tow rigs on the way there.
