Selling my Sony XM-2000R - it's huge and sounds remarkable. Has a few nicks/scratches from regular use but would be a fine addition to anyone's collection. These amplifiers were $4000 when they came out and I'm looking for $950 for mine.

I believe it weighs about 60 lbs so I'll cover any shipping costs that are over $100US (within Canada and cont. USA only). Buyer pays up to the first $100.
Note: Available only to Phorum members with good history.

The XM-2000R is a 2-channel amplifier designed to achieve extraordinarily high output while driving 1-ohm loads with total stability. To do so, the XM-2000R divides the audio signal into 4 parts - left and right, positive and negative, and provides current gain for each with completely independent output stages. Each output stage is provided with its own independent power supply, with a fifth power supply for the voltage stage. With this revolutionary construction the XM-2000R amplifier is a near perfect source of current, doubling its output power as load impedance falls. Protected by a "dynamic" monitoring system, the amplifier can gradually reduce its output if a fault condition occurs, and return to full power when the fault is corrected. Power is supplied through twin 70A resettable circuit breakers.
