Octane LE. Is it a #1?

I bought this off of this forum around 7 years ago. I don't remember the details. I don't think it is a #1, I just don't remember how to read the serial numbers. Anyway, I sold the car, and will probably not have a use for this amp going forward. Please look at the serial number and let me know what...

Re: Hyundai can kiss my a$$...time for a new ride!

so we have decided to look for a 2002-2004 Honda Odyssey. Why? I'd rather have PS problems than a shit transmission. The '99 to 2002 4 speeds were trash from the start. The '03 to '05 5 speeds weren't much better. The 4 speeds fail to handle the power output of the engine. the shift strategy allows...

Any chance I could just throw a power core in it?
No. The Octane LE cap bank is for the PS rail voltage not the 12v input. A power core is a no-go. The Bass Cube board sits below it as well. Space would be an issue too.

Yeah, I wouldn't worry about the caps right now. They are way more robust than ones used in previous designs. Epoxy is really the only way I can think of to fix the transformer noise. Mine squeals like a stuck pig most of the time when it is cold. I recommend mixing a small quantity of 30 minute epo...

Nice, but why you hide the Octane? Flo Because as I type this there is a 30# can of R134a freon, a vacuum pump, and a digital scale in my trunk. It has to retain some functionality, even though I have a Superduty for the heavy stuff. Looks good! How hot does it get under the glass? I saw your fans ...

Classic ground loop. Connect the ground for the LD and the Deck at the same location as the amp.

How well sealed is your enclosure? It is easier to push air out of a small hole than suck it back in. You could be creating a small vacuum in the enclosure sucking in the woofer a little as it plays.

Q8 is the location on the board. You should be able to see it silk screened in close proximity to the ZTX749 transistor in that location. Common symbols used in car amplifiers: IC = integrated circuit Q = transistor D = diode ZD = zener diode L = inductor/choke T = transformer J = jumper R = resisto...

If you have 12v and ground going to the 350 and it won't turn off, even with the remote wire disconnected, you probably have a shorted transistor on the PS control board.

The fuse in the amp, or the fuse at the battery/distribution block? The PS input caps store some current, and the leds will illuminate for a little while if you have the ground and remote connected without a +12 feed. They will deplete after a few seconds.

Should I still be concerned? The caps are $2 each, and take about 45 minutes per amp to replace. A 1.5" hole burned through the PCB and the resulting peripheral damage could take days to weeks to repair, if it is within your skill level. It will also never be the same cosmetically. I have fixe...
