It's not intended to cause a delay-ON....it's intended to cause a delay-OFF (keep the circuit energized for a moment....~1-2 seconds).
So the diode is backwards?

I don't think the above circuit will work as a delay. As soon as the headunit trigger comes on it will start filling the capacitor with charge and allow 12V to pass to the other side of the diode. If the capacitor is completely empty it will draw max current from the trigger and may damage it. The ...

You need the other kind (2 male ends, 1 female end) in order to extend your 1 male plug into 2 male plugs (or actually 2 male plugs into 4 male plugs)gtrotter wrote:I went to radio shack (rip off) and got a y adapter. I think I got 2 of the wrong ones though. I got 2 female ends and 1 male end. Is that right?

Here is the carpet mistake and the broken trim. I think I will leave the trim, as there is not much I can do to it, but I am trying to figure out what to do about the carpet. How about cutting out a metal plate and installing it over the carpet (under the dock cleat)? It could look like it's suppos...

Just as a guess....what all do you think would be involved in saving this? I don't mind putting in the work (I don't want to just throw it away!), but I also don't know if I have the skills that would be necessary. I can solder, but I generally feel only slightly adequate at it. It looks like the pa...

Burnt XS6600....should I just cut my losses?
I picked up this XS6600 for dirt cheap hoping to put it in my girlfriend's car...but I take a sec to look over the internals before I go about installing it (not that I know much of anything about what I'm looking at, but I wanted to make sure it at least looked okay) and it looks like it has been o...

I've never heard of the video cable causing the noise, but I have had 'noise' enter into my video cables before (seen as lines/static on the screen), so I have always treated my video RCAs like my audio RCAs and kept them away from the power cables. Currently my rear-view camera RCA cable is run pre...

Awesome. Thanks.
edit: It looks like their site has been down for over a month...but I'll keep an eye on it.
I was able to find a UK seller (www.alphacaraudio.co.uk) that carries it, so I may just go through them.
