Re: ZPA service in the UK?

As above, just had a ZX500 re-cap and service. Good price, quick turnaround and you can rest easy knowing your amp is in capable hands.

Re: 12" sub recommendations?

I do like the subs, but having read numerous times on different forums how subs have come on in leaps and bounds over the years I was expecting to be told "swap for 'x' much better, you'll never look back" etc. but if that isn't the case then a repair/refurb may be in order. I have looked ...

12" sub recommendations?

The time has come to replace my much loved, used and abused subs. Ive been rocking these for 14yrs on various amplifiers ranging between 600 and 1500 watts for the pair and they've lapped it up. I'm only replacing due to the foam surround begining to crack. http://www.audiorama.com.br/kicker/#Freeai...

Soundstream rubicon

Anyone own or have any experience of the new rubicon class d mono's specifically the rub1.2500? I'm considering buying one but I'm put off a little by the fact the rated outputs aren't given at a specific voltage, the other ranges on their website have ratings at 14.4v but the rubicons don't :? WTB RSD 6.5 comps

Hi all, looking to buy rsd comps but can't find any in the U.K. I've found a few on U.S eBay but the cost of shipping is extortionate. Does any member have a good set to sell or a link to a vendor that doesn't charge through the nose for shipping? Also what sizes were these available in? I thought t...

Tantrum 600.4 config question

I've got a 600.4 that I want to drive a dual coil Alpine type R with (front and rear bridged to a coil each) and want to know which position the config switches should be. I've had a look at the manual and it seems like I can send one set of rca's from the sub pre out and the amp will use this one i...

Re: Oscilloscope (wich one) ??

Sorry to jump into this thread, I've just ordered one of these and am wondering what the max input voltage is? The bumf says 80v with x1 probe, would this be the same with the x10 probe? My mate wants his amps scoping and I'm sure they'll do a fair bit more than 80v before they clip. Anyone shed any...

Already done the big 3, I have 0awg to a fused distribution block in the rear and 4awg from that to the amp's. Could do with a stator re-wind to around 120 and an optima tbh.

Recommended repairers in U.K?

I have 2 Tantrum amps that require repairing, a 500.2 that blows the onboard fuses on power-up and a 1200.1 which is oscilating. Can anyone recommend someone in the U.K who will do a proper repair and wont try to rip me off. Thanks.

Phoenix Gold Vs Kenwood

My mate has recently told me he thinks my Tantrum amps are shite, he reckons PG in general are unreliable crap and he only rates the MS range. This came about after my T1200.1 started playing up and he lent me a 2 Channel Kenwood amp to run in its place until its repaired which he reckons sounds far...

Has anyone experienced anything like this? No signal to the amp and gain turned right down the same thing happens, subs draw right the way in then push right out at a rate of about 5 cycles per second.

The subs are moving in and out at a steady rate to what looked like the peak of their excursion. While this is happening it's drawing a lot of current the voltage on the power cap is quickly dropping. What are the symptoms of a failed tri path chip?

I have been using the T1200.1 for 2 months without any problems until today when i switched it on and it threw a fit  When i powered it up the subs started throwing massively, the amp drawing lots more current than usual. I've tried disconnecting the RCA's but its no different :? can anyone ad...

Ok, just been to disconnect the speaker wires and its still blowing the fuses  the amp appears to power up for a couple of seconds, draw a lot of current (the load on the alternator is significantly slowing the idle speed of the engine) then pop the fuses. Any idea what may need replacing?

Tantrum 500.2 blowing fuses

Yesterday I had the system cranked both 30amp fuses in the side of the amp popped I replaced them and they blew again right away. The amp is running bridged at 2ohms and has been happily doing so for months, I didn't run it any harder than usual when this happened, the only difference was it was fre...
