Re: little help with rsd6.5cs install (see page two)

Bringing this back from the dead for an update. The video kept having errors upon upload, so I gave up on that. I finished the enclosure I wanted to make for these speakers (only for one side of the car though) and I can confirm that the bass response from the side I finished is 10 times better than...

Re: little help with rsd6.5cs install (see page two)

uploading a vid right now that should show you the difference between free air and in the housing. If you hear it on good speakers it should explain the problem fairly well.

Re: little help with rsd6.5cs install (see page two)

They are (or were) fully sealed before. It wasn't a problem with air escaping. Its so hard to explain, but it just sounds like the speaker is very choked in the low end. It wants to extend but something about the enclosure isn't letting it. In the same setup with the end of the enclosure cut off it ...

Re: little help with rsd6.5cs install (see page two)

Hey guys, I've finally gotten around to expanding the enclosures for these things. I never really had a good idea for it before, but now I'm making some headway and am in pretty deep. I stripped down my door panels in preparation for some major surgery. I'm using what used to be the door pockets for...

The green is gone! lol It was just for fun really. anyway, yeah I will open it up someday and take a look. I just don't have enough time right now. Maybe in the next few weeks though. I guess I've also decided that my HX-D10 can stay because there is no way I can afford something equivalent at the m...

Yeah, the green was fun for a while. It was just for fun, but I ended up actually liking it. It was catching way too much attention though. They are stripped down now awaiting a new color choice. Haven't decided on it though. There are a few reasons for getting rid of the Porsche wheels. For one, th...

Hey, haven't been here in a LONG time...but I've been getting the itch for new audio equipment since most of my old phoenix stuff is starting to burn out (I'll probably try and fix two of my amps) and my HX-D10 is kinda annoying considering it doesn't play CD's anymore. Anyway, I thought I'd update ...

I know I love my xs8's, but just use them as subs. I have used them for midbass in the past and they were awesome. I'd love to do it again sometime in my doors.

OK ummm now it seems like my Ti500.4 is biting the dust too. No idea why. I have yet to take a look but the sound keeps going in and out. It will be fine for a second, then fizzle out to nothing, then come back on again. I have an Hx-d10 that is feeding the Ti500.4 and I don't think that could be a ...

Yeah, I can vouch for that. I have had RSD's in two different cars. One that allowed a huge sealed enclosure in the doors and this current one which allows for almost no space. They pounded in the other car, pretty much suck in the low range in this car. The only difference is the install. Same amp,...

I personally dislike rear fill with full range. Rear fill with only low range is like having a sub to me so thats what I'm after this time around. My car needs the rear fill because the fronts don't have enough volume (cu in) to sound like they should in the low to mid range. Even crappy rear fill h...

well thats awesome, and probably exactly what I'm looking for then. I hate 6x9's too, but my rear deck already has them in there (seems like some kind of special bracket that converts from a standard 6 or 6.5 to a 6x9. The car used to have a Bose setup, but that all got recalled by Audi because they...

If your decent with an iron, it should only take about 10 min to fix it. The hardest parts were figuring out how to test them (which is in my thread), finding the correct replacements (which is also in my thread), and then waiting for parts! It really is an easy procedure. I replaced my caps becaus...

Thanks stipud, I dunno if I'm up for rebuilding this thing. I've got lots of other projects on my hands right now...maybe later this year when I'm bored! I spose I'll try those tang bands. Can't hurt :) I guess its a good thing that they are just woofers and not coax's or something like that because...

OK cool, I wasn't sure if that was serious or not because they don't look like much and are cheap...which is AWESOME. I like cheap as long as it sounds good too.

Also, are they good in free air? If not, what should I do...

Some rear stage advice and a burned out 500.2

Hey fellas, Sadly, last night my ta500.2 bit the dust. I has some xs8's wired up to it with electrical tape covering the connections because I have to quickly disconnect them at times to get shiat in and out of my trunk. Well, the heat of the summer in south FL killed the electrical tape, so it fell...

Audi 200 20v...cooler than you think ;)

Just thought I'd share my pride and joy. I love car audio, but I love modifying cars and fabricating stuff even more. Just a little back story: Used to have a MKIV VW jetta 1.8t with a 50 trim turbo. It made about 400bhp, but would just spin the tires all day. I had lots of fun with it, but I get bo...
