But what i'm trying to emphasize here is that I don't have an aftermarket system and am just trying to beef up the factory electrical system, it helped with my rough idle in my 350z, but all I did back then was the grounding kit.

ok, look at ebay item #330215863877 for an example. I'm actually not running an aftermarket system at all, it's impossible to get an aftermarket HU in the 04-08 TL (not impossible, but not worth the effort) I'm just doing a big three upgrade (and some extra grounds to look cool :) ) to hopefully smo...

Electrical system upgrade, voltage stabalizer worth it?

I was told by an individual (less knowledgeable than yourselves) that a ground kit and "big three" upgrade is far less effective without a "voltage stabilizer", and one can be purchased on ebay for roughly 50-100 dollars. it seems like bunk, but I'd like to be sure, what say you,...

seriously? It's that bad? Why the heck would manufacturers never advise against it? I've been running amps this way for a decade and this is the first one that failed, and it's also one of the higher quality ones i've run!

I'm curious, I've got the eclipse cd5000 deck running to the rsd500.4, bridging the back half on a rsd10. two questions here, how do you use the DMM to set the voltage? also, is there a graphic representation somewhere on LPL/HPL x-over? it just says 40-400 hz and you pretty much have to guess where...

Errin - horns are the ID CD1E v.2 Minihorns, Eric at ID recommended crossing them over in the 1000-1200 hz range. Audiophiliac- I'll consider that if you can come down a bit, a pair of the carbon fiber woofers like the ones you're mentioning just sold on ebay for 112 dollars and they are essentially...

does anyone here run ribbon tweeters or have experience with them? I'm thinking about playing with them for the next car I do, going active 2 or 3 way.

better yet, cough up another 60-80 bones for 100 sq feet of some cheep stuff like fatmat, and use it on the floors. Raammat is vastly superior, but I think that assuming you're using something of a comparable thickness & weight that using it on a horizontal surface should be fine. I'm a Raammat-...
