I even know of another board member here that has redone his Xenon 200.4 with all BB op-amps, and as controversial as it may be I must say it did sound really smoother and cleaner on the highs. < and I own three Xenon 200.4's :D :D :D I can hear the difference of op-amps. As Cecil said, the high an...

Same boat
Sorry to hear your story.
Guess ... I am on the "same" boat ... my car got broken into. Arrrggh.
Stole my bag .... nothing in it though; only paperwork of the car.
Stereo is all good though.

Wakeup, thanks. Fully aware of older (seasoned) vs newer PG gears. Could understand why people like this MS amp. Very good built indeed. Got very good result with X200.4. Just wondering how good MS is from personnel who has both; specially in term of signal issues. You need a lot more goodies with M...

2.5 hrs Drive - Worth it???
I have been reading how finnicky this MS amp is. It has been in my short list though until ...10 minutes ago. Gotta drive 2.5 hrs for it. Worth it?
Any inputs fellas?
How good is this MS compare to X200.4 (SQ wise)? Anyone has both and compare them side by side?

HLabs Smart Caps
If you do need a cap ....Why not support HLabs?
http://www.hlabs.com/products/caps/
They have good products.
For me ... just change the ones inside the amps. Good enough.

What is your pick?
Why i.e. build quality, SQ quality, easy install (built in x-over) etc?

4Ch bridged to 2Ch; bad soundstage
Bridging my 4ch X100.4 to 2Ch.
The soundstage is flat (very 2D) instead of 3D as the 4Ch.
Couldn't get it right.
Is it just my ear or those 2nd rear Xover is the culprit? Has anyone change the rear Xover board with the same front Xover board? What is
the result?
Suggestions?

Polypropylene vs Polyester vs Electrolytics
I have old school Orion XTR450 that uses all of those caps. Would like to replace them all. What is the general rule? Can I replace them all with electrolytics if place permits? Note: On X100.4 or X200.4, I see 470uF 25V input caps. Can 1000uF 16V be used? What is the highest input voltage that thes...

2Ch button works
Errin,
Just FYI.
Haven't tried the Y adapter yet.
But today, I try the 2ch button (pushed in) .... it (bridging) works.
I am good for now.

VW337 quote: Another thought, you bridged 4 channels into 2, If I read correctly? So how did you connect the RCA's to the amp? Correct. I am bridging 4 ch to 2 ch. Me too
Errin, I am lost too. Even called Matt at PG. He is also lost. Regarding the sub RCA, I have found the answer .... the HU had an option of mono and stereo mode for Non-Fader output. I might be playing around with this long ago as I couldn't get enough power (X100.4) to 12W6v.2 in stereo mode. Thus, ...

Info please
Dumb questions: 1. Have 3 L.A. RCA hooked up to Eclipse CD8455 units 4 months ago. Since I don't have a sub amp, I tucked in 1 pair underneath rear seat (without putting protective cover). Now, that pair does NOT work. Am I shortenning HU by any chance as Eclipse has 8V out? Or the RCA is simply no ...

Conformal Coating
Hi Errin,
Can I use Conformal Coating material (cured by UV light to make it harden) i.e. Dymax Ultra Fast Engineering Adhessive 9-20557-LV?
Or is this adhesive not thick enough to prevent ringing?
LMK.

Not pictures but open your cover
Hi AVICJR, NO, I want no pictures of transformers. What I would like to know is: a. open your X600.1 cover b. hook the amp up and play music (preferable with some deep bass, occasionally) c. With this occasional deep bass, now hear if there is any ringing sound coming from your two output transforme...

Just hate to see this amp returned.
Is there anyone out there willing to open up your amp cover
and verify that what I am hearing (ringing sound) is bad transformer
i.e. bad amp?

Hot Glue
Stipud,
Yeah, the "ringing" is either from the two transformers or relay. Not quite sure.
What products to use for hot glue-ing?
Is there any effect on transformer to dissipate the heat itself?
Is 2nd tie wrap an option? (may involve in drilling the PCB).

X600.1 fan
May be someone has asked this before but ... Is X600.1 fan booting up when amp is turned on (just like X100.4 or X200.4)? Is the fan on only when the amp is hot in this case? Note: I have never heard the fan is on for entire CD. However, I heard clicking noise (almost "ringing" I would say...

Thank you for both of you 1moreamp and Thumper88.
I did clean it up with Acetone. The mark is gone.
Should power them up sometime next week. Can't wait how
good these amps are!!!

Sorry for pics. I have to dig out info to shoot for low res. On the X200.4: I compared it (D13) against Doc's pictures (review of X200.4 at Soundbuggy), they were the same. So I am sure that this X200.4 won't have any problems. Note: D13 and some others resistors are indeed not populated on the boar...

PG X200.4 and X600.1 Guts
Picked up both X200.4 and X600.1 yesterday. Haven't power them up and decided to open them. Found that: a. X200.4: saw D13 SOT3 transistor was missing; instead a shunt wire was placed. Some resistors were missing near bridge rectifier. b. X600.1: saw a burnt sign on the traces. Note: the owner said ...
