This install kicks ass.
IMHO, if a man wants to build his own circuits, etc...he doesn't need another reason to do so.
oh,
and i am in the market for a subie wagon so am paying extra close attention to this one.

Re: Paint, not carpet?
I have used rubberized undercoating (maybe similar to VB-1) inside boxes before, however, IME if the box is built and sealed properly it makes little difference. I have limited experience with the rubberized undercoating because it can be messy and become brittle and dry over time. Perhaps others ha...

Re: How come wire and install gear costs more than the amps!
Yah, copper.... Expensive! I already have it all purchased, sitting in boxes, so I am good... It is just startling on how much all the "accessories" are just to install some amps. Correctly I should add. My first amp was a RF Punch 40, IRRC was $350 new. The install gear was a whopping $1...

Welcome. I know both EricD and valeks1 are well qualified. I personally sent mine to valeks1 but plan to have eric do some future work, as well.
Good luck and keep us posted.

Re: is 4 guage enough for a zx600ti and a zx475ti?
it will play, but I would not be suprised if it would not get a little warm when played at high volumes for a good length of time. I do no mean it will catch fire, but it could possibly limit a little of the current you would need at high volumes. I am currently ripping all the 4 awg out of my stan...

Re: is 4 guage enough for a zx600ti and a zx475ti?
I ran a Ti600.2 and a 500.4 off 4GA for a long time. I recently upgraded to 0GA because I am swapping the 600 for a Ti1000.2. You shouldn't have any issues, especially if you are using a line driver or a high volt head unit.

Re: Help hooking my PG Ti 600.2 to a single Alpine Type R!
a Ti 600.2 should have no problem pushing an alpne 12" type R. If it were mine, I would run the voice coils of the sub in parallel for a 2 ohm load and back off the bass boost. I use a Ti 600.2 to push a JL 12w6v2. Admittedly, I am using a line driver and a great box, but my bass boost is All t...
