Re: Thinking of buying a Chinese no-name Android HU
Like Brenz mentioned, check out the Kenwood Excelon DDX9902S. Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, on a MUCH higher-quality 7" motorized touchscreen and a good sounding Excelon unit at $750 retail is tough to beat.

Great buyer! Paid immediately and sent me confirmation of a safe arrival as soon as possible. Wouldn't hesitate for a second to do business again. In fact I didn't...this makes two transactions that have gone seamlessly. Thanks Damo!

iroller
Have met face to face on several occasions with iroller in order to sell him quite a few pieces from my collection. He's a very nice gentleman and eager to provide a good home to some of our PG treasures! Wouldn't hesitate to do business again. Welcome to the phamily!

This is a pretty comprehensive sequence to narrow down the possibilities when troubleshooting noise issues. I hope your amp is okay.

Re: zero point zx600ti
ZX600ti and Ti600.2 are essentially the exact same amplifier. I think PG was a bit confused how they wanted to approach the naming. They were the early Ti amps which came just after the popular ZX. Later it seemed they just dropped the ZX for the simpler Titanium naming strategy.

The X200.4 is a great amp and one of my favorites! Out of my whole stockpile of PG amps, it's the only one I'm using at the moment. Glad to hear you're enjoying yours too!

Re: Headunit needed today.....Kenwood or JVC?
The KDC-X496 doesn't have bluetooth. The KDC-X696 does have bluetooth at a similar price point, but you give up the multi-color and multi-line text display. To keep that display and add bluetooth you'd be looking to upgrade to the KDC-X896, which also adds HD radio capability. The JVC's offer a lot ...

Now you're on the right track....bending and molding metal is the best way, but working with a finished product like that trash can may prove to be more hassle that it's worth. You'll likely have stress spots pop up let alone the finish cracking and making a mess of the project. I always mad a jig o...

Re: Where have all the nice head units gone?
The Pioneer PRS decks have all been solid performers. Exceptional processing power for a sub $500 head unit. Great 16 band equalization and countless 3-way and 4-way filter options. Both the EQ and the filters offer left/right independent control. Just as important as what specs and features they ca...

Re: Advice: New setup around a PG200.4
These guys are giving you some good input here. I'm currently running my X200.4 the way they described. In fact, I never even bothered to upgrade the rear speakers in my Camry! I turn my deck's internal amp on for the rare occasion that I have a passenger in the back seat, but using the fader is nea...

I can see what you're saying, and I even had a few of these same thoughts cross my mind as I browsed through their CES booth. That said, there are a several critical elements to retailing that you're omitting from your analysis of the situation. I'm not privy to any of the dealer pricing and haven't...

Phoenix Gold @ CES 2012
A few pics I snapped of the new gear while visiting the AAMP booth. Sorry for the pic quality, an iphone had to fill in for the Nikon that didn't make it to the show! Didn't get a chance to chat with Morgan or quality seat time in the Elite Cayenne, but that's a good thing for PG! They were pretty b...

RTA? Are we competing now? Tune it to what sounds good to you and be happy with it. Tuning a 32 band EQ without an RTA is a joke. Agreed. Just because you have the sensibility to accurately measure many important variables in quality audio reproduction doesn't mean that you forfeit any degree of pe...

Re: BASS CUBE and ported boxes.
What frequency would you approximate you're boosting at? You should probably be good to go with the fixed frequency subsonic filter and I would imagine for everyday listening it would sound best that way given your box tuning. The tracking subsonic option really becomes beneficial when you're boosti...

Re: TOTAL LET DOWN!!!!! TI1600.5 amplifier
doesnt seem like a true 1000 watts. it may be 1000 watts but the 1000 watts coming out of the audison amp seems to control the sub so much better, tighter, faster, and just plain louder. thats because its not 1000rms its 800 per the manual. if you look close all the ratings on the ti line are misle...

Glad to hear you're making progress towards getting it dialed in! :thumleft: When you're ready to get into a more involved fabrication project I would recommend placing the mid and tweeter combo together in the front of the vehicle. Then you'll realize the full potential of those drivers and passive...

Re: phoenix gold voltage meter display
The RSD amplifiers should each have their own RMD port. If you use one display for each amp they will monitor the voltage present at each amp in real time. Optimally the voltage will be the same across the board, but you'll probably have to use a multimeter to confirm and calibrate each display inde...

Re: can the RSD1200.1 take <2ohms?
I might be imagining things, but IIRC at one point Erin might have suggested that configuration to another member. I believe it was said that in the hands of a responsible and knowledgeable end user that the amp shouldn't have any issues at that load. You might have Brian or one of the other Portlan...
