Re: 7-22-11
It's strange to think that a peaceful nation like yours could invoke the wrath of the Muslim nation like America. Looks like they guy is a native to Norway, and that he hated muslims, so lets not going around saying this is based off of religion, when there is no proof of religion even being involv...

Not to sound too snarky, but get a different iron? I picked up an adjustable one for cheap that gets HOT if I need it to. Did you try soldering wick/bread to remove the solder, might help. But if you can't get the solder hot enough with your iron to melt it, it's going to be hard to remove it. I wou...

Re: Clarion amp, tell me what's wrong, gut shots.
General rule is you can up the voltage and capacitance, not down. I start by upping the voltage, and if that doesn't work, up the capacitance. That's just my preference though. Following those rules I haven't had a problem yet!

Re: Clarion amp, tell me what's wrong, gut shots.
Electronics alcohol in the spray can. Should be 99%. Then spray it on, and scrub it off softly with something like a tooth brush. That should take off anything that's on there. Something like this: http://www.mcmelectronics.com/product/TECHSPRAY-1610-P-/20-2135 As for the brown stuff, almost looks l...

lol....calm down son....I didn't mean to insult your router, or you. Cool, thats why I try to give people the benefit of the doubt, especially not a "random" internet person. The internet sucks for trying to convey emotions, so what is truly intended behind words is very hard to tell with...

Ok, figured it out. Wifi. Any device on wifi (802.11g, 802.11n won't have this issue) will be limited to around 12mbps, since I am not the only one with that number... http://www.speedtest.net/result/1335576690.png From a wired connection, it's much better :D I connected to my 802.11g access point ...

Re: 1990 Subaru Legacy Install!! WooHoo!!
I guess I should also explain what is in my car right now as well, since the oil pressure sensor is throwing you off a little. I just reread what you said, and I think I should clarify a bit more... Right now in my car my oil pressure sensor only has one wire, the one for the idiot light. The one wi...

Re: 1990 Subaru Legacy Install!! WooHoo!!
As long as your starter isn't going to cause enough oil pressure to disable the starting battery while it is turning over... that seems like a neat idea! That's what the relay on the right is for, it's connectrd to the starting circuit, to make sure that as long as the starting circuit is active, t...

Re: 1990 Subaru Legacy Install!! WooHoo!!
Where are you looking? Most purpose built 200 amp battery isolators are $50 or less? I struggle to find ones over $100. Hell, here's a BNIB PG diode isolator for $50 shipped: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320557089229 I kinda see your point about using the oil pr...

Re: 1990 Subaru Legacy Install!! WooHoo!!
Well, the main reason I don't want the isolator to be on when the accessories are on or if the engine is not running is because what happens if I leave the keys in accidentally and drain BOTH batteries? Wouldn't that defeat the whole purpose? I also only want the starting battery connected to the sy...

I should also give credit where credit is due. I didn't come up with the idea behind the diagram, I just modified it to fit my needs and car. I got it from "Idea 4" on this website: http://www.junkyardgenius.com/charging/dual01.html I just realized in my tired state that I forgot to mentio...

Re: 1990 Subaru Legacy Install!! WooHoo!!
Ok I will sum it up, bear with me I am tired, so I might come back and edit it later  So the oil pressure switch has 3 prongs on it. The prong going to the idiot light in the dash is NOT grounded and not on when the oil pressure rises about 5 psi, and grounded when it is lower than 5 psi or the...

Re: 1990 Subaru Legacy Install!! WooHoo!!
Well, $$ for one, and I like homebrew shit, so if I can do it myself, then I will go that route :o I am basically buying a battery isolator, a 200 amp stinger relay, but not buying all the "stuff" that comes with a $100+ "isolator" you buy off the shelf, just the part that matter...
