Re: Sub box mounting hardware

spare tire cover isn't mounted though is it? If you can't go down, then look to the sides or up. I have used 1"-2" aluminum flat-stock bent into shapes to mount alot of my gear. Its thick enough that you will need to put it in a vice and use a hammer to help bend it so its strong enough t...

Re: Sub box mounting hardware

That looks like a Suby, which those brackets would be sitting right above the spare tire well. I agree with ttocs that those are framing brackets, which any hardware store will have a large variety of in their lumber sections. There are always options for mounting enclosures without drilling, just ...

Re: Sub box mounting hardware

Well I was looking for a quick fix as my current enclosure slides all over the trunk. Upon further inspection even if I go to drill through the trunk floor I'll have to remove my exhaust, heat shields and some underbody molding just to secure it. This quick fix was suppose to be part of Phase 1 of m...

Sub box mounting hardware

Who can tell me the name, GIS search, or find a vendor selling the brackets holding this sub box in place? If you have found other brackets commonly used for the same purpose post them up so I can see options. http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y94/JayGold/Car%20Audio/subfeet.jpg http://i3.photobucket...

Re: Fan replacement zx450

I'm new on the forum but have been gathering info of it for a few years. I'll post some pictures of my stash in a short time. I'm from the Netherlands and have been repairing car audio for a while (top favorite is Phoenix gold). At this moment I'm repairing a zx450 and can't figure out what the ori...

Re: Congratulations to Phoenix Gold App amp

App-solutely trick, I'm glad PG is pioneering this technology in one of their line of amps. My only concern is fail safe features, I hope the app lets you lock an adjustment as I would hate to accidently max the gain or another adjustment while sorting through the menus and damage some expensive spe...

i know i have the schematic for the fan board (daughter board)- i believe it might even be posted in the schematics thread. I also know i have the gold screws you need and the two plexi screws you would need. I would have to dig thru some boxes but i know i have some of both of those. ill check for...

Re: schematic for zx350 or why amber light staying on

I may have a similar problem with my 350...when the amp powers up I'm getting a green light and the fan is getting power but not spinning a full 360 degrees continuous. It's intermittently spinning about 15 degrees then stopping only to repeat. This is my first ZX, can you explain how the fan is su...

Re: Upgrading to 1/0 gauge

I suggest using the battery top posts for your audio system power/ground and starter wiring. The GM side posts should be utilized for any additional factory wiring or lower amperage power draw. I don't have any top post, thats why I'm using the side one for now. So this is a factory GM battery with...

Re: Upgrading to 1/0 gauge

Are you using the KNF-22D for distribution to the amps? Are you ordering/using the GM side posts for connection to your system, or for OEM power/ground wiring? You'll need to fuse independently both the alternator and the main power wire going to the rear of the vehicle. A fused distribution block c...

Re: MEMORY LANE -- Where did you start?

I finally scanned the Polaroids. This isn't exactly where I started but more like where I ended. This was taken back in 1996, installed in a 1995 Honda Civic EX. One of the 0.5's ran my 3-way front stage comprised of Canton Pullman's. Source was a 6-disc Nakamichi MB-100, crossover duties were split...

Re: MPS-2500 (lots of large photos inside) FIXED PICS

Yeah they seem closer than other amps i have seen too. There is a plastic coating on them also. Maybe to protect from them somehow touching? Could be something they changed in later revs. Most if not all MS amps have a clear plastic sheath on the buss bars to protect them from arcing on each other ...

Re: Your PERSONAL product review!

I'm with those who decided on the MS2125, even though NewOldStock makes some great points about the MS275. When I got into car audio around 1993 it was all about buying used amps from friends because that's what I could afford. My first was a 4 channel Kenwood amp which kept blowing 2 channels runni...

Pics can only determine so much when it comes to value. It somewhat falls into what someone is willing to pay and it depends on exterior condition of paint, and the sink plus silkscreen. As for the board and components, it's best to know if the caps have been pulled or swapped as they tend to leak o...

Well, its obviously been tinkered with as it fails to have original speaker block hardware. It looks like they used drywall phillips screws and some misc hardware on it  So who really knows what else is awaiting inside...its a mystery! Re: More MS2250

I just picked up a 2250 as well, already pulled off the caps and received replacement sil-pads from nico boom. You definitely have some leaking caps there, pop off the plexi/non-connection side end plate and wiggle the caps off the direction of the long way of the amp (from end plate to end plate di...
