Re: Cutting diodes on zeropoint 0.5 ?

take as many fosgate amp's and pack your shortbus completly full to the brim with fosgate amps and drive it over a cliff, i would kill my self for ever owning a fosgate amp much less contaminate a soldering iron with their shitty solder.

Re: Cutting diodes on zeropoint 0.5 ?

when i went to bluffcity electronics to pickup some parts, the main repair man explained that surface mount is just to put more components into a smaller area but it does not sound as good in an audio circuit. to me it's like turning an american v8 into a torqueless 4 banger, some things just should...

i think that the pot metal heatsink and the cast iron circuit board were both invented buy fosgate, they were way ahead of their time.

Re: Cutting diodes on zeropoint 0.5 ?

a properly designed triple darlington is more powerful and many times clearer than the mosfet, and the brain washing that fosgate did to everyone at that time didnt work on those that read more into it. the surface mount mosfet had no significant improvement in sound what so ever. the triple darlin...

lanzar had the world record in bass in that era and yes triple dalington was a factor, it was not the inferior obsolete mosfet design.

Re: Cutting diodes on zeropoint 0.5 ?

the surface mount mosfet was a deceptive way for them to sell the same amp design yet say its new technology it was the same outdated mosfet design, however a good marketing scam. but look at the amps of phoenix gold, lanzar, and us amps, and they all have the triple darlington stages. when at that ...

Re: Swap rail caps with the power caps or just power caps?

the rail cap's are case sensitive manly because the only reason they go bad is if the amp was overly abused for a long time, you know if someone ohmed it down and cranked on it. the rail caps are fairly durable and extreme heat is the main reason they can go bad, you can slide a thin piece of paper ...

Re: Cutting diodes on zeropoint 0.5 ?

by your statement, it would not matter what era RF was in they were still making crappy amps right? The punch and power series were out at the same time though so I am not sure what era you were in. Punch series was their entry level in that era, power series was the big boys..... and again I am no...

IT WAS A PUNCH 50 ON 4 TENS.......... if your amp was not more clear and loud then it meant you had screwed up worse then him... again, are you calling the power series amps weak too? yes you are by your statement above and it just shows you do not know as much as you may think wrong amp era son, t...

my sound was twice as clear and it was even louder, that was enough to determine how {weak and pathetic those bacon bit microchip scap junk amp's} really are. :study:

and as far as the on and off axis thing goes if the amp is powerfully dynamic like say a phoenix gold amp the sound will be projected out to where it is only effected at very low listening levels. but everyone is not the same and we all have our own perception on sq and the way it sounds, but if yo...
