Re: The Phoenix Gold Crate Project, Outlaw and Bandit amp ra

Everything is installed and the rear seat is back in. It is tight, very tight. I can fold the seat flat with the front cover on and I can even latch it in the up position, however I have to remove the front cover to lock the bottom of the seat up. http://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/x480/deannatd1/P...

Re: The Phoenix Gold Crate Project, Outlaw and Bandit amp ra

I did some aging on the top, maybe a bit too much. It looks like it has been thru a war now. http://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/x480/deannatd1/P8080501_zps7d0082e8.jpg http://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/x480/deannatd1/P8080503_zps47f8293b.jpg http://i1183.photobucket.com/albums/x480/deannatd1/P808...

Re: The Phoenix Gold Crate Project, Outlaw and Bandit amp ra

So here are some updates on the project. I have already gotten the Bandits back from repair, a big thanks the Tricky Ricky on the forum for a fast turnaround. The burnt bandit got a new board and the other Bandit got new caps. I did some of the stenciling today, here are some construction pics. I am...

Re: The Phoenix Gold Crate Project, Outlaw and Bandit amp ra

I have already made arrangements to buy a freshly refurbished M50 board, the guy is even giving me a core charge for my burnt board. He is going to send me a fresh M50 and I will swap the boards and send it back. He is also going to refurb my other Bandit. The Outlaw will be following shortly after,...

Re: 73-89 K5 Blazer 2WD a.k.a. CHONG

I worked at a shop in high school with a lowered K5 Blazer, it was called "Nightmare on your Street". Wall that bitch, we had sixteen 15s in it on 1000 watts of PPI ProMos amps.

Re: The Phoenix Gold Crate Project, Outlaw and Bandit amp ra

So I hooked up the Bandit that I have not used yet and I smoked it. I burned up a whole bank of caps and the board is toast. Last year I had all 3 amps gone thru and bench tested to make sure the caps were good. This is the first time I have fired this amp up since getting it back, so now I need a n...

Re: The Phoenix Gold Crate Project, Outlaw and Bandit amp ra

[QUOTE=Navy Chief;1931980]So I got started on building the amp rack (crate) today, a big thanks to Glenn (GLN305 from diymobileaudio) for coming over to give me a hand. I picked up the wood last week from Home Depot, I am using the select grade pine, no knots. The entire crate is 55" long and a...

I am going to see how warm it gets first before adding a fan. Because its in the cab with me I can hear the fans running. I lose points for my Powercore relay clicking on because it is so loud already.

The Phoenix Gold Crate Project, Outlaw and Bandit amp rack

So I have not really been happy with my amp rack since I built it a few months ago. The amp rack was always a temporary plan just to get the amps mounted, so I am fine with rebuilding it. I am also finally ready to add my second Bandit to the mix to power the tweeters I added, this also requires a c...

You guys have all been really helpful. Thanks to everyone who sent me good leads on finding what I was looking for. I am not currently running any PG gear so I haven't spent lot of time here previously, however this is the most harassment free help I have gotten on a forum site yet. I appreciate for...

those things couldn't be given away for 20.00 at the last sale, before warehouse closed- I cannot for the life of me figure out a practical application for them- I know what/how, but it seemed lame- I suppose if you couldn't not afford another amplifier, or you were maxed out on current... I know t...

Looking for an XVR-14 or XVR-4

Does anyone in here know where I can get my hands on either an XVR-14 or an XVR-4 passive crossover. Does PG still sell these anywhere, anybody selling one.
