Questions about my two RSDC124 (12" 4 ohm) subs and more
Hi guys and gals! I used this site to help me build my beast on a budget system over 5 years ago. The best part? My RSDC12's still work, and I'm ready for a new install! I recently bought a new vehicle and hadn't installed my subs (my old amp fried) but now I'm ready to put these old girls back to w...

I understand that, and the subs won't be up against anything, what I mean is having one sub on each end of the enclosure. One sub would be facing each door but it would have a good foot and a half space in-between the sub and door. I was just worried if having the subs facing like that would affect ...

Hey that's fine i dont mind if you ask a question :). Speaking of question, this is my last one before I build my box. I want to have the most space possible so I was going to build a short rectangular box and put one sub on each end of it. Is that going to be a problem as far as sound quality or pe...

Ok, sealed is what i'm looking at going then. For SPL the manual says .72cu per sub and the woofer displacement is .13cu. So a total of 1.44cu, added in with the woofer displacement (.26cu) i'd need the box at 1.70cu total. Should I round off to 2.0cu and call it a day or leave it at 1.7cu? I'm just...

My woodworking skills are pretty good (I used to design and build cabinets) so attention to detail is my forte. Quick question, that tuning would sound bad why would PG have that port size for their recommendation? Edit¦ just saw the post about low tuning. If you don't mind me asking audiophyle, wha...

It's all good, believe me I appreciate the help and knowledge you guys bring to the table. I think i'm going to go with the round port then. Does it matter where I place it? Like facing the front with the subs or on the side etc. The rest of my equipment is coming in thursday...I'm psyched...

Ohhh ok i think i understand now...when I was told to make it 6 inches by 9.3 I was thinking the 9.3 was the height of the port. So when you say make it 9.3 inches you mean how far the port goes into the box correct? And the just make it 9.3 inches tall as well? I was planning on making the box 14&q...

Thanks, I bought the amount of 0 awg I needed. I called sonic electronix to order my amp and they said truthfully that the Planet Audio would be slightly underrated as far as wattage and to go with a Hifonics Brutus 1601d. Any thoughts on this? I don't mind if they are slightly underpowered but at t...

I appreciate all the help guys, I'm still deciding between the planet audio amp or the SPL that was listed...Pretty sure i'm going to go with the planet audio (was able to find reviews of it online and people said they loved it) I'm looking at the upgrade for the big 3, i'm just wondering how many f...

EDIT: Ok I found a link about the big 3 http://www.the12volt.com/installbay/forum_posts.asp~TID~73496~PN~1 It says to run your new cables along the existing ones and don't bother removing them...Since I'm not removing the old wires, does that mean I need to hook them back up with the new wires? or j...

Ok, first question...What is the big 3? Class D means I can run two subs with less problems right? I heard someone say in another post that most monoblocks are best for a single sub. Last question, since the amps I'm looking at are 2000 watts, should I get a 2000 watt amp kit, or since i'm only goin...
