Re: Best way to change 6x8/5x7 holes to fit 6 inch component
Go to your local Wal Mart and check out he Mainstays HDPE cutting boards for 3 bucks a piece. They are MEGA thick and cheap. I made adapter plates for all my speakers in my car with them.

Any MTX guys?
Just picked up a MTX Thunder 4300X in absolutely Mint condition, birth sheet, manuals etc. Has anybody used these amps. Just wondering what it might be worth if I decide to sell it. Most I have seen are rough and this one is Mint the feet are even in tact, the birth sheet, manual, box. This is proba...

Re: 0.5 smokes a kicker 12L7
We are talking subwoofer amps correct? So basically 80Hz and lower frequencies. I keep hearing "sounds better than this" OK if one amp is more powerful yes to your ear it will sound better it is creating more SPL than the other amp giving you the impression its louder and sounds better in ...

Re: 0.5 smokes a kicker 12L7
It should have sounded louder as he gained 200 watts from using the PG over the Orions. The Orions will do 1 x 400 @ 1 Ohm they cant run .5 ohm bridged mono. So if he used 2 that is 800 watts to subs not 1,00 so he definitely should have heard a difference. Now I would love to test and compare one t...

Re: Easiest/Cheapest way to prevent light dimming
I suspect these cars have a very sensitive headlight circuit affected by any swing in voltage. I did the Big 3, plus upgraded the fuse box wire and added an additional ground all in Streetwires 0 gauge OFC. Replaced my battery with a Die Hard Platinum (rebadged Odyssey 1750). Replaced my Alternator ...

Re: box for two RSDC 12s
I agree do not use a jigsaw but use a file or sander if you are going with the 10 inch box. I think you are over thinking it I would not add any wood for POINT ONE cu ft of airspace. Do you think PG tested a sub in a 1.3 or 1.35 box and said no it sounds like ass stop at 1.25? Get a tube or 2 of cau...

Re: Want to get HD OTA channels through sat dish or antenna
Does he pay for his local channels for the Local News etc? If he does he may just be missing the HD channel because it does not come on without an HDTV. Use the guide on his Box to look for them. If he does pay for locals just go plug your TV into his box you will get the HD feed. Even the cheapest ...

Re: box for two RSDC 12s
Why dont you just do the logical thing and buy this box. http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_7603_Sonic-Sub-Box-2H10-2.7-GRAY.html' Ream the holes a touch larger and put 12s in there. Now if the sub runs small anyway its less reaming you have to do and is probably real close already. I have the exac...

I had an Orion 12 XTR the Blue one and it pounded Loud in one of the old ported Orion Xtreme Boxes but like stated it needs a lot of room.

I just bought some Klipsch stuff last year and they come with a 5 year warranty. They still have to honor that right?

Re: Got me some free 6 x 9's, fairly decent ones too.
Nice find. I have a set of oddball 5x7 midbass Impulses that I bought new old stock on Ebay last year for 30 bucks shipped. They are strictly midbass not co axes or part of a component set so a very odd speaker. I bought hem as a quick fix planning to upgrade them over this winter but after hearing ...

Re: Battery Talk
Yes I found it strange too Stupid. I learned my lessons over the years on over tightening stuff :D It was weird that the thread actually came out with the allen screw?? They are a different diameter inside and the terminal only has about one thread to catch the screw to hold the allen screw in place...

Re: Battery Talk
Correct and they even give you the allen wrenches in the AKIT-1 and negative matching terminal. The power terminal was fine as it tightened back up and didnt strip, when I snugged the negative back down the threads came right off and like I said I snugged it down and was not cranking on it. I ended ...

Re: Battery Talk
I put the Platinum battery in today but will not be able to test it out until tomorrow. I got the battery in no problem then when tightening down my last ground wire on the top of my PG ground terminal it stripped and would not hold the ground, I just snugged it and it stripped. Kind of weak if you ...

Re: Battery Talk
That is exactly why I am upgrading my original 6 year old battery. My system is high powered and I do not think my battery is keeping up with it. I get some light flickering even after upgrading my Alt to a new 200A and doing the Big 3+ (fuse box wire and another chassis ground) and it still may nee...

Re: Battery Talk
The Deka will not fit, my hood would not close. The Die Hard Platinum is 199.00 at my local Sears where the same Odyssey is 283.00 and they are the same battery just badged differently. Here are the specs on the batts as you can see they are identical and the case is even the same, 4 year full repla...

OK guys I am on my last thing to complete my new install and that is the Battery. I have an old Ford Motorcraft original to my 05 car. So I am going to say its about 6 years old and probably on its last leg although it still cranks fine. I was wondering if anybody uses a Sears Die Hard Platinum batt...
