Re: Better SQ: MB Quart or PG?

I'm a giant fan of MB Quart as I am currently using an old, original set of Q-Series 6 1/2" components - the infamous set with the absolutely huge passive crossovers. The tweeters are powered by the front channels of an M44 and the woofers are powered by the rear channels in a pure left/right s...

Interesting and Unique M-Series Ebay Listing...

Did anyone else see this Ebay listing? http://www.ebay.com/itm/First-Ever-Produced-Phoenix-Gold-M50-Amplifier-Yes-Serial-1-/261333698392?pt=Car_Amplifiers&hash=item3cd8b3c758 The sellers claims it is the very first M50 produced, complete with serial #M500001. The price seems a little steep, but ...

Re: need help wiring m44

Sprung, Good morning. I am currently using an M44 and an M25 in my system, and I have a friendly suggestion for you. But first I'll describe my setup: I am using an original, old-school MB Quart QSD 216 set for my front stage, stock 6x9's for rear fill, and one Punch 12 sub. The signal originates fr...

If she could just shut the hell up maybe but her voice is one of the most annoying things known for me. The way she draw the last letters of the word out and into a low scowl to turn anything she says into a winey-ass SOB drives me nuts. Technically speaking, it's a speech mannerism called a "...

Re: M25/m50 noise Please help!

I own and use an M25 Series II and an M44. Both amps are original and unmodified, and I can assure you that neither amp is "noisy". In fact, even though I am not a technically inclined person, I would consider them to be extremely quiet and dependable. Having said that, I did buy an M50 fr...

Hey Ludeboost98. I am in a similar situation with my M44, AX406A, and MB Quart QSD 216 Q-Series 6 1/2" comps. I am currently using a dedicated channel of the M44 for each tweeter and mid. In other words, each front channel powers a tweeter and each rear channel powers a mid. I am also using the...

Thank you for the answers, gentlemen. I really appreciate it. Zeropoint0.5 also inspired me to revisit the M4...

M44 owners or Phoenix Gold experts...

Hey everyone. When I bought my M44 and first installed it in 2009, I noticed that I was getting signal out of all four output channels - front and rear - with only the front channel RCA inputs connected. In other words, I did NOT have to have the rear channel RCA inputs connected to get sound out of...

Re: Need ideas for "nostalgia" build

Audiophiliac, If you want a nostalgia system, checkout my collection and install. (Copy and paste the link at the bottom of my signature into the address bar.) I built it last summer after beginning my collection in 2009 when I purchased the M44. Since then I have acquired a virtually perfect M25, a...

Re: bi amping

next time you power an amp up, make sure the gain is down.... All the way down is best but still it should be checked so it doesn't "smoke" the speakers as you described. That's how I have my system installed, where I am using the M44 for the QSD 216 comps. I have the front channels power...

Hey everybody. I'm looking for a single 3" (preferably), 3 1/2", or 4" component mid I could use for a center channel application in my Civic. I would also prefer it not have a tweeter; it would strictly be a mid. Does anyone have any (economical) suggestions? I'm considering replicat...

Re: eq 215ix

Nutxo,

I have an old EQ215 and it is installed before the AX406A in the signal chain, so the entire signal is affected by the EQ. I then have a LPL44 hooked up to the AX406A to adjust only the sub. This is the setup I think you were describing. I think it works really well.

Re: m44 for sub?

If you just want a soft blending sub that is basically flat with your front stage, you will be happy. If you want more oomph, you should go bigger. That's the way I have my system setup with the M25 powering the Punch 12. It get's surprisingly loud. On the other hand, the M44 is the most powerful a...

Re: m44 for sub?

WTF1978, Good afternoon. I used the rear channels of my M44 to power one RF Punch 12 (single 4 ohm voice coil) for over a year before I picked up an M25 to takeover the duty. I was really happy with it. Granted, my modest system is a SQ setup, but with an LPL-44 directly hooked up to the M44, it got...

Re: Advice: New setup around a PG200.4

I did the same thing in my setup. I used the front RCA outs of the HU for the entire system, but kept the stock rear speakers hooked up to the HU's rear speaker level outs. That way I can use the HU's fader to fade out the rear speakers almost completely. Keeping the stocks hooked up directly to the...
