For most people the difference between active and passive will be night and day, but only because they have the active setup wrong, so it sounds worse than the passive. Active has the "potential" to be equivalent or even better in some instances, but your typical DIY car audio enthusiast ...

So, I had these amps gone through, and picked up another 275. Several had the caps done, but the work was so so, but I also wanted the opamps and audio caps done, so I had all 4 amps redone with the upgrades. He shipped fast and it was pakaged well.
I really didn't care what the condition was, and his looked clean, but when it showed up it really appears almost perfect.
Some sellers like to exaggerate the condition, he almost understated it.

Make sure the amps are in good working order though. Have a phoenix pro check them out for caps leaking and resister issues.
After that you'll need a ton of power for these, so make sure your power flow is laid out appropriately

I used to run a pair of those boston pro 12's off an ads 860mx, they did really well sealed with maybe 180 each
