Re: RSdc 10's or 12's
Either way is a winner but I certainly like stealthy. Are 12" fiberglass enclosures not an option with that vehicle? I got exactly a 1 cubic ft out of my Acura wagon and based on the pics of your vehicle I would say you could get at least that much out of each rear corner. If I had to guess I w...

Re: RSdc 10's or 12's
Are you worried about output? A single 12" RSdc should be able to hang in there pretty well with great SQ to boot. I put my 12 in a single 1 cubic ft sealed box and strapped it to a X600.1 and it was more than I could handle especially in a hatchback vehicle. What kind of car is it going in to?

Re: Opinion on Sub location
I have always preferred the drivers seat position facing inwards towards middle of cab or upwards towards the roof. I can't tell you the science behind it but it was just better. In fact, I've always preferred all my subs behind the drivers side regardless of vehicle type as I have had many vehicles...

Nice job... Not all amps are created equal and that's just how it is. My Xtant amps sound alot different than my PG and Audison amps when hooked up to the same components in the same vehicle.

Re: Line drivers
I've used both brands and I still prefer the Audio Control line drivers for flexibility (internal balanced input switches)and voltage capabilities.

Re: I need help with a tweeter
Yes this may be a hard find.. hopefully the protos work out or you may have to mix it up with something that has similar characteristics. I have some old MTX Thunder Pros that are a nice soft dome in the garage if you need them. Good luck Eric.

Re: I need help with a tweeter
I don't have much experience with those comps but I can tell you that there are a few used sets on Ebay right now. This one may have the tweets your looking for but comes with mid bass drivers as well. http://www.ebay.com/itm/A-pair-of-used-6-5-Rockford-Fosgate-Fanatic-speakers-with-tweeters-/272680...

Re: Line Output Converter
When you're talking about keeping an OEM head unit it will require a bit of adaptive design. I kept mine in my TSX for much of the same reasons that you're keeping yours. The biggest challenge is going to be figuring out where you're going to tap in. The deciding factor for me was that all of the pr...

Re: Line Output Converter
I've done it on my last 3 installs and it's worked perfectly but like I said, you have to make sure the amp is capable of taking the signal. Just check the RCA inputs on the amp and make sure that they're separately grounded and you will be good to go.

Re: Line Output Converter
I've used and installed these before and although the eq part is nice, I found these units to be noisy at times producing an audible "floor" noise. I've had better results soldering RCA's on the factory wire and directly plugging into my amp or eq, line driver, etc...If your radio emits a ...

Re: Advice on SX1200.5, RX500.1, and RX400.4
I think that for under $200 your getting 1200 watts of PG power... Granted it's not old PG power but it's PG power nonetheless. My recommendation is that you should buy the SX1200.5 for a single footprint and for the sake of simplicity. Comparing amp lines is really hard to do especially with OS PG ...

I may just build it around 1 ft and throw plenty of power at it and see what happens. Unfortunately, there is literally no tech support for these as they have been discontinued for over a decade now... Damn Swede's!!

Enclosure recommendtions
So I have this nice DLS Iridium 12 subwoofer that I want to make a custom sealed enclosure for but as I read the manufacturer recommendations it calls for 1.2 ft/34L. Fine, but oddly enough if you look at the recommendation closely it's for a "single voice coil" configuration and there is ...

Re: Demo setting
I have done a fair share of switch flipping in the past but most all of my A/d/s x-overs has 2 settings to pick from, "car" and "demo"... which by name alone fueled my paranoia and even furthered my misguided/preconceived thoughts. So now I know to flip and ask questions later!:)...

Re: Demo setting
Basically I was told that the stereo shops were able to run on axis because the soundboards are directly facing you blah blah... the moral of the story is I think I had a bad teacher when it came to this subject matter. I flipped tweeters and done all that other stuff as well with minimal or no resu...

Re: Demo setting
At first it sounded a bit overwhelming on the drivers side due to sheer proximity and output but I attenuated it -3db and it was a done deal. I guess that I was taught from day 1 (many years ago) that passive crossovers should ALWAYS be set to "off-axis" and that "on-axis" is wha...

Demo setting
So I decided to set my crossovers to demo mode which is just another code for "on axis" and sound quality has gotten much better. Keep in mind my speakers are in Factory locations and my Tweeter is in the sail panel. Is this possible or am I suffering from too much salt water in my ears? S...
