Re: Battery woes
It took me 3 Optimas to realize they are garbage. I would never consider buying another one. I will say though, 100 milliamps is a significant draw. My Legend has more electronics than you can shake a stick at, and still is nowhere near that- .062 amps. A quick Google search pulled up this (ironical...

Re: blue/purple Sapphire amps
I think these amp were not made in the usa but i might be wrong on that http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h43/DevanTheDude/phoenix%20gold%20project/DSC02578.jpg I don't know a whole lot about these amps, but they look to be pretty nice. I think that is triple darlington actually. It looks to be the...

Bought a Sapphire 1.4x from James. It shipped fast, was well packaged, and I couldn't be happier!

Just bought a replacement part for my Ti500.4 from Matt.
The price, communication, and shipping were all great.
Wouldn't hesitate to do business with him again!

Refurbing a Ti500.4
Hello Phoenix friends. A few months ago I bought an SA1.4x from a pawnshop for 20$. I must admit, I was impressed! Very underrated, warm and natural sounding. It's now running my basement system. That little amp led me to buy a Ti500.4 from the same pawnshop for 45$ (allegedly broken). I got the ti5...

Re: ????Rockford Fosgate????
I've always been a Rockford fan. I still think my old punch 200 was the strongest amp i've ever owned (back in 1997).
Here's what i've got in my Legend right now. Couldn't be happier!
Haven't tried any of they're new stuff though.

Re: How do you know if you need new caps?
I am pretty sure those caps are not the ones which fail so often. However, I am not 100% certain of this and if your amp died in a week because you took my advice I would feel pretty bad about it. You can try the other methods of checking like using a piece of paper slid under them to see if any fl...

Re: How do you know if you need new caps?
Please post a photo of the 2,200uF caps. They might not need to be replaced, but chances are they are the same as the rest and do need to be replaced. Op-amps don't really make an audible difference in a car audio amplifier (IMO), so replacing them is not cost effective. Putting the money towards a...

Re: How do you know if you need new caps?
I'd like to piggyback onto this thread with a follow up question. I came across a Sapphire sa1.4x at a pawn shop. I've been looking for a good budget 4-channel, and the price was right. It was tested and worked fine in front of me, but now i'm considering re-capping the thing before i install it. It...
