Elemental Designs 160v.2 INFO WANTED!!!

Does anyone on this forum own a 160v.2? How do these subs sound? I am looking for a sub or 2 that will go well with my RF 800.2 amp. I am open for suggestions on a Sub or set of subs for this amp. thanks

I listen to mostly rap, but also some heavy metal, so punch is a must! :)

4 gauge to the amp. the sound level is nowhere near as loud as the old head unit, it vibrated so much you couldnt see shit out of the rearview mirror. the side mirrors vibrated as well, and i do not notice this at all with the new HU. stock alt. is 105 amps at 2500rpm

the headunit is not powered by the d-block. I bought the harness adapter needed, and wired it accordingly. there are 2 power wires coming from my d block....one for my RF800.2 and one is for my RF200.2 amps. the fuse for my 200.2 is not blown, but the one for my 800 is the one that keeps blowing. I ...

I removed my subs from the box today and discovered the mesh/aluminum grilles (where the speaker says MAX, appears its used for thermal dissipation?) had come unglued and were stuck to the magnet. Does the magnet get hot? Hot enough to melt glue? Im just throwing questions out, maybe i was smelling ...

My subs worked fine, no clipping at all (to the human ears) until i installed my rockford fosgate 2002 amp for my highs. after installing the amp that runs my highs, i turned my gain down on the 8002 (subwoofer amp). this is when i started to smell the dreaded smell!

Ok, i understand bad grounds can blow amps up, but ive NEVER smelled anything before. I actually turned my amp down to a little less than 3/4 on the gain, and turned my HU from -3 to 0. Its a rockford fosgate p8002 amp, 2 15" 4ohm dvc subs in a vented box.

bad ground

Is it possible for a bad ground on your amp to cause a sub to get hot? Thanks
