Re: phorum future
I just joined tonight. Many know me from the Facebook pages. I’d like to see the phorum stay alive. It almost feels more private than Facebook. I immediately saw that things are purged after 6 months. We probably shouldn’t do that. That’s how I’ve found most of my collection is from stagnant adds. ...

Re: Speed Booster (aka Lens Turbo)!
That's part of the fun here. These vintage lenses are still fairly cheap! The most I have spent on a lens so far in this endeavor has been around $280, cheapest is 2 lenses for $20. The last auto focus lens I bought for the fuji was around $1k!
Re: RIP Cecil
Mando let me know over Facebook, since then I have deleted it. Sorry to hear he passed, he gave me a ride from the airport to pick up a truck to drive across the states for another forum member. That was quite a while ago! I know he was suffering, glad he's no longer in pain.

Speed Booster (aka Lens Turbo)!
I recently relearned the joy of manual focus prime lenses thanks to the super cheap and super high quality Chinese lenses. The brands I have used are TTartisans, 7Artisans, and Pergear. These super fast (f1.8 and lower) lenses can be had in any camera mount for less than $100 on Amazon. I started wi...

Casey, I think I remember you from the old days.... and DAMN you're old!!!! :P :P :P If I were you, I'd seriously look into a PG Elite.5 while there are still a few around. Plenty of clean SQ power and all under one heatsink.   I like the look of that amp! Looks to be about right...

OMG...OMG...OMG...!!!
I'm not sure how many of you remember me from the days of old, but I'm about to be back! Due to some vehicle shuffling and by the good graces of the wife it looks like I'm about to need a system for a daily driver! The vehicle is still up in the air, but I have a pretty good idea of what I want for ...

Iceland!
Been a while since I posted here but the wife and I just got back from a 10 day trip to Iceland. It was amazing! The entire country is super scenic and everyone was very friendly (and spoke English). Here are a few photos, the rest can be found here: Clicky https://photos.smugmug.com/Travel/Iceland-...

Re: Oregon coast trip!
Then we got to the coast. HOLY FREAKING S#&*!!! The coast was so damn scenic it was stupid. We seriously had a 6 hour drive from Portland to our camping spot the next day and it took us about 11 hours. Every time we would come around another corner we would pull over and take more pics! The firs...

Oregon coast trip!
The wife and I just got back from an epic (to us) adventure to Oregon and down the coast. The plan was simple, camp in the Columbia River gorge for a few nights, spend a couple of nights in Portland in a hotel, two more nights camping on the coast, then one more night in Reno, NV about half way home...

Re: Weekend in Moab area
Thanks! The tent was STUPID comfortable. Kind of a PITA to set up for the first time, but that will get easier. I seriously have never been so comfortable sleeping in a tent. And the annex was plenty big for changing clothes and the such. That was a pretty big selling feature for us. In a pinch we c...

Weekend in Moab area
Last weekend the wife and I had a chance to take a quick trip to the Moab area. We were supposed to go down to the San Rafael Swell with the Wasatch Cruisers, but apparently I can't read and the club is not going to the swell until next weekend. So, we were all packed up and decided to head down to ...

Re: Oregon coast trip!
We hear that Portland is a foodie town so we are open to whatever for food. Neither of us drink beer, the wife likes wine and I'm a spiced rum guy.

Campgrounds and hotels are booked!! We will be camping in the Columbia River George from June 10th to the 13th, then off to Portland and the Paramount Hotel for a couple of nights. After that we will head off down the coast spending a night at Devil's Lake and another night at Redwood State park. Fr...

Yes sir! I think I still have the plans. If not I still have the box I built! I just can't bring myself to throw it away or break it down even though I haven't used it in years! Lol
