Re: A peak inside my nickel MS 1000
John, You know more than you let on! Good for you attempting to replace the caps, i just don't have the soldering skills necessary to do it. I have always wondered what it would cost in money and space to transition an amp like this to solid state caps or if that was even possible (like maybe the so...
Re: R-acer
Okay, so I have waited the requisite time as I have to start to move this item. I am going to offer my nickel MS1000 to the boards here first. Catch you guys over on the classifieds.
Re: R-acer
Sort of a bump, I'm still trying to reach David, but no luck. His loss might be someone else's gain. I'm selling a piece to help pay patent fees. I will be disappointed to see the piece go, but maybe one day I will own another.
R-acer
Does anyone know his email address, I need to get in touch with him asap?
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Red this on the JL audio facebook page lately........
The main reason that most people don't do this is because of ground loop noise. A lot of the time grounding in multiple places creates a ground loop that causes significant audio noise. Just think the head unit is ground to the same vehicle. An ideal situation would be grounding all points in the ex...

Re: 2010 Highlander Hybrid
Yes there is the highlander is a different beast than the prius. It is a smallish SUV, There is room for an HO alternator and there is an existing one as well. My thoughts were I just needed to use my old isolator that is circa 1990 to separate the two power systems, but I have read some things onli...

Nakamichi Head Unit
Okay so for the past couple of months my car audio has been acting like there is a break in an rca. Every time I go over a bump no matter how little I get the dreaded loud as all get out white noise or loud pops. This has happened in the past and it turned out to be a loose screw in the TiDEQ. So I ...

jbondox, That is not necessarily true. Stay with me here. There are certain times that it is best to be completely quite until it comes time to produce a working product and then blitzkrieg it. This keeps people/press/etc calling it vaporware, the product being written off prematurely, or even not l...

What comes to my mind that made PG great back in the day 1) was the simplicity of the designs and 2) they did what it stated it would do (M series lines - M/MP/MQ/MS/MAC/MPS). Even though PG made monstrous amps they were know for the sound quality could be considered a 3). There is something to be s...

I am one of other owners of a nickel MS1000, the one with the blue plexi in the earlier pictures. It came from Tristan via R-acer. Is there another person on the board that has one? Thought Matt and I were the only ones currently here. Due to the economy and things (like getting married again) the b...

I don't post often, b/c well I don't often have experience with the hardware being talked about, but this time I do. I have a Nak CD500 and it is connected to a DD10 as well. I have not had any issues with the Nak in general or in connection with the DD10. I have four fans, exile 2400.1, M44, TiDEQ,...

So here is my experiences. I currently run my Nakamichi head unit with an 8G nano (new black square one) and I have music encoded all the way from 96kbit/s (think old reel to reel -> cd -> mp3 ugh!) to ACC lossless. While I (and everyone else for that matter) can hear the difference between a cd and...
