As for the size of the cap, the higher the uf the longer the delay. The exact time of the delay depends on the currant draw of the head unit.

Do u wish it to continue to be activated and de-activated by going in and out of reverse? Cause u could always use a switched 12v+ to that wire instead of the reverse trigger. Otherwise a delay on the + wire utilizing a small cap would give you a few seconds extra before shutting down. I have a diag...

Looks great so far! As for competition and IASCA install judging, I would suggest looming the power wire front to back if it's still accessible. That will be a key focus point of the install judge. Even if it seems redundant or even if passes the rules by your interpretation, it will come down to th...

Thanks for the link Ryan! That gives a little more insight. Method 2 sounds like it would work except they both have $ and/or gift cards for I-tunes and each wants there own settings  Heaven forbid they combine their resources and share. U have brothers and sisters? Sibling rivalry. I'm not ge...

I-Pod users .. questions

OK .. So my son had his 12th b-day yesterday and grandma decided he was responsible enough to own an expensive, somewhat fragile, electronic gadget without blowing it up, setting it on fire or video taping it falling from a 3 story roof. So she got him an I-pod  With the one she bought my daug...

so i can kinda guage an idea of the DLS rw10 on what par would you put it on with other sub in terms of sq? I would categorize it as a 'higher end', 'mid level' sub. That can be deceiving by it's looks. It's not the most power capable (250w RMS / 500w peak) but very efficient for a 10". Uses a...

Thanks for the props Knight, but I'm not an expert on all DLS stuff by any means. I have used those 10's and can vouch for them as they are a very nice sub. I've never heard the Hertz sub so I couldn't offer an opinion on that one but out of the rest I would say the DLS would be your best SQ sub. Th...

Awesome! Still very impressive! Those kinda numbers still amaze me. I haven't played in the SPL world in a long time. We did back in the early/mid 90's when it was all done with music sources. Test tones and huge ported enclosures weren't even thought of yet. We were one of first, maybe ten, that br...

Sounds like u have some cancellation going on. And I'm with you, inserting some x-overs would help control things and toggling the different subs maybe for different sound settings (ie SQ vs SPL). It's nice to have all the EQ capabilities but that's the last thing you should use for tuning. Getting ...

Ya, even DB Drag used to be on the dash the last time I saw one. Maybe 2 yrs ago? was the last time I hosted a Db Drag event. Anyway, IdbL is IASCA's SPL competition format. It's what took over after Wayne Harris broke off and made Db Drag a separate entity. 1998 I think. IASCA's SQ competition uses...

Briiannn .. Focal .. a French product? Really  Honestly tho, I found the kevlars to be nicer then the Utopias in some aspects. Much better low mid punch then the Utopia's. And I personally loved their tweeters. I hated the day Focal gave the line to Tweeter stores. I had a Tweeter store 1 blo...

If I am using the spl meter she goes caged in the kick as it would be in any isaca compitition.... honestly, the kick is gerenally lower then the dash in most street pounders as the sound rounds the car and the standing waves settle in the kick but that is what is legal in any class. Have the rules...

What is up with the NHL? I haven't seen 1 single advertisement for the finals. I had to go to NHL's website to find the time and channel for the next game. It's no wonder no one is interested. Aside from an occasional ESPN spot with Barry Melrose, there's is nothing to get anyone excited. I mean thi...
