I've already accounted for the voltage loss from the diodes, the loss is 0.8 volts. The numbers I gave included all my losses from alternator to amp. It was 14.5v to 13.8v at the amps. Thats pretty good actually, since diodes can cause more then that sometimes. It's just the droop i'm trying to figu...

That diagram I drew up was pretty much exactly to spec to what i've done. The only differences were the lengths in wire that I made not to spec since it's just an illustration for people to see. The grounds I have from the bank to the ground block are 2 runs of about 2 foot long 0 gauge wire. There ...

Definitely not my grounds. I'm using 0 gauge from all the amps and batteries, and 2 runs of 0000 gauge positive from the alts and a single run of 0000 gauge ground from the ground block to the alternator itself as ground. The ground block has also been welded to the frame of the vehicle. Using an el...

Ya don't say? So I connected my second volt gauge to the power input of one of my amps and the other volt gauge to the alternator. Here's the results... Voltage went from 14.5 volts at the alternator to about 11 volts. Voltage at the amps went from 13.8 down to under 10 volts. My gauge doesn't tell ...

Thanks for the advice, tomorrow I will check the voltage drop at the amps. Infact, I have a second digital volt gauge mounted in the driver cabin that I could easily connect to one of the amps power inputs to tell me exactly whats happening with the amps AND the other for the alternator. The alterna...

Actually, the sensor that is telling me what the voltage is doing is connected to the positive of the alternator under the hood. So that tells me i'm getting a voltage drop all the way up where the alternator is. The isolators are theoretically supposed to stop the voltage from travelling backwards ...

Adding a capacitor
I'm wondering if I should add a capacitor to my power system. I notice that even with a battery bank and a standalone 250 amp alternator charging them, my voltage drops from 14.5 to sometimes 11 volts when I hit some notes. I have a digital volt gauge in my drivers cabin that tells me the voltage al...

To be honest, I have no idea what my amps really put out. I wish I had a way of knowing. I know that even with all my amps together using 1 amp as the master and the rest as slaves, I still get 1 amp that will sometimes when pushed with the gains way up will switch off for a few seconds and you can ...

Because the T20001's aren't really 2000 watt amps, they're under rated by about 800 watts on average. Thus giving me 1400 watts per sub at 1 ohm each. Also because I started with 3 of them and got a good deal. Then the 4th came... Follow this link to check out the averages from RF stating power outp...

Yeah, the van is beyond rattling now. It's making sounds that it never has before when I had just the 6 of the TiElites in it. I can hear all the metal panels on the van, the roof and doors all make lots of noise. I'm going to have to tend to that eventually. I am in the masonry business, so thats a...

Using a laptop for audio/video
Would anybody know if it's possible to use a laptop as a head end? Using nothing else but the laptop. No deck what so ever... The only hurdle i'm wondering about is how to send right channel, left channel and subs through the RCA's to the amps from a laptop. Maybe someone knows of a device that'll w...

Shit guys, I was at a car audio show today and was checkin out what people have in their systems. A couple of people had 9 positive 0 AWG wires and 9 ground 0 AWG cables running from their hood battery to their amps in the back. They only had between 2 and 4 amps!! So they had the cables running to ...

Here's what i've been working on the past couple of weeks. Right now I am on hold waiting for some wire, fuses, and battery isolators to arrive in the mail. There will be 6 of those batteries filling the empty area that you see there.

No, I actually WANT to be covered for what I own. My vehicle could easily be followed after being seen and then stolen later on. I used to be quite a little cocksucker when I was younger and I have seen what some people will do in my neighbourhood. Think like a theif. I will gladly pay $100 a month ...
