Ok, first off the red car install above has to win for most creative use of an extension cord! If I just bought a fairly decent tuner car, the last place I am going to drop 3K is a chain store. I feel for that guy, but that is pretty much the standard fare install from that type of place, the ones i...

Repair Question: Clarion CD

I have an older Deck that the volume knob is failing on, not the end of the world because I can use the remote, I would just like to know if anyone over here does that kind of work, or know someone who does.

It might be the speakers I use (quarts) but I have always had good luck in running the tweets in reverse polarity. Stay away from the mids, it will mess with your midbass. That being said, I havent competed since the late 90's, where simpler could be better.

I looked hard at them last summer, the 6 speed would be the better way to go, but the auto is a tip-tronic setup so you get the best of both worlds. My bottom line came down to being able to afford the maintence on one, my Jetta aint cheap and with most used rockets like that they are heading into t...

that shouldnt be a big issue, Ive been using the same set for about 6+ years with minimal failures. And the problems have only been recently, which I contribute to the age of the speakers. I am just as likely to buy off of Ebay, same basic concept. and typically i can boost my feedback rating.

IKESOUND.COM

Has anyone bought anything from them?

I am dying with a blown Mid-woofer and they have a great price on a set of Quarts. I am hesitant to buy as they dont have actual pictures of the speakers.

UGH, something may be screwy......the gain knob isnt a "volume" knob. Being at 3/4 you typically are driving the amp into distortion AND/OR have really weak output from your deck.

NEXT QUESTION:

How high is your volume set on the deck?

Nothing should kill an optima in 5 months, there must be a drain somewhere.

If so, its well under warranty, get it replaced.

Might not be all the amp, I swapped out the right angle connectors I had going to the amp, and it got better.

However, I just swapped the amp out for a different brand, and it works 100%.
