Re: Low voltage, best place to connect a power supply..
I've got an RV style of power supply that is rated at 80 amps that was wired directly into the front battery in my old Accord. I didn't have quite as elaborate setup as you but I did have two AB amps (one Xtant 604, one Xtant 603) and a single class D amp (Xtant 1000d) plus a second battery, gauges,...

Re: center channel
First off, you're welcome! Second, at one point I used a Quart 6.5" Coax in the front center console cubby in my Accord with mixed results. I use the center output of the H701, but got some weird judging results (both with it playing and not!!) that led me to ditch the idea. I like the far fron...

Can't say enough good things! My wire arrived as described and within the time frame expected. Stand up dude, I would gladly buy more from him in the future.

Kick ass ride, and some sweet gear! I heard a Sony XES setup at IASCA finals in '97, very impressive.

Re: 2014 Hybrid EX-L SQ Install
Thanks guys! Sadly enough I'm not happy with the height so I'm adding a set of ML700 mids in the pillars, moving the tweeters and adding a Ti21000.4 to the mix after the first of the year. As for the trunk mat, I'll have to take a look. I don't think I've ever had it up very loud with the trunk open...

2014 Hybrid EX-L SQ Install
Here is the latest install to come out my garage, my 2014 Honda Accord Hybrid EX-L. I wanted a simple install with a single sub in the spare tire well and the equipment rack under the rear deck. I know the rear deck install has been done in the past but with the car being a Hybrid I’m already short ...

Re: Single PG amp for 3-channel operation
Though the 4 channel works, I would look at the 5 channel with either bridged fronts or even better of running the fronts without a passive crossover. You could also go with some sort of processor and run it active. I've got a Ti21600.5 and have nothing but good things to say about it.

Old School RMD with new Ti2 amps
Has anyone used the old style of RMD with the new amps? I've got a new Ti21600.5 with an old style of RMD in the box that I might integrate in the install if it will work. I've heard from an unreliable source that the port is the same but the wiring may be different.

Re: anyone have pics on the old BMW Ti showcar?
I would have to dig up some old picutre books but I might have a couple from the finals in '97 in Greenville. I think it was the Beemer that was there that year. I haven't looked at those pics in years so I could be wrong.

Re: Opinions wanted Alpine vs Kenwood
I don't have any direct experience with the two units you are looking at but I have an Alpine W505 in my Accord and a DNX9980 in my Outback. Like you said the Nav aspect is hands down to the Kenwood. The Garmin unit is far and away better than anything nav related that Alpine has put together in the...

If you use the HP out of the H/U you may run into no LP in the system. If you run full range out of the radio you should be fine.

Re: Audison Bit one....
I don't see the benefit of the TLD. You will already be at 4 volts and all you would add is more connections and need additional RCA's that could add noise. I would hook it up without it and see if you feel you need the additional signal strength.
Re: USACi
I competed in USAC in around 96-97 time frame. It was a different time for audio. I thought the judges were a little partial to certain vehicles and manufacturers. I ended up switching over to MECA in 00-01 and stayed there until I won points and state champ as well as finishing 2nd (by a .10 of a p...

Re: Xtant 302a
I know I'm slow to answer but they are under rated. I believe that they were rated at 12v but I remember some of the reviews stating that they made more power at 4 ohms than rated. Mine have been bulletproof. The "a" series were a great step down from the "x" series.

Re: Crossover Slopes
To add what Francious noted, that you generally want to cross smaller drivers like tweeters with a steeper slope to help protect the driver. Too shallow on a larger driver may allow some "bloating" or bleed over and cause some muddiness. Depending on the driver, install and desired effect ...

Re: Cross over point
I've never thought that a specific frequency is that important, as long as you can get close. When it comes to the "double crossover" I've heard issues in the past where "cascading" the crossover without making them the same will cause odd issues. This might be a good thing or ba...

Get ready for a long road!! When I went active I at least had the tuning down, for the most part. Like Damo95 stated, I played with crossover points and slopes but nearly a year later I was still tweaking! In short you will never stop, but at least the crossover points will protect the drivers unles...
