Re: Xs4600 help
OP sent me the amplifier after several attempts to repair it. Seems like previous owner did some serious damage to the PCB through vias, I had to repair all the vias on the rail caps. Used 3205’s for the PS repaired an open trace (primary to secondary ground), also had to replace several 56/06 in th...

Re: MS2250 + MS1000 cooling solutions?
If you want speed variable (just use a potentiometer) or temp controlled then you'll need to use a rasberrypie with some temperature sensors. You can now buy a rasberrypie for 6-10 doll hairs.

Re: Bass Cube that needs to be revived!
That's a 2watt 4.7ohm resistor, the two transistors may have failed if there is a short in a winding of the transformer (toroidal). Check all the diodes near by and if the new replacements fail as well then most likely the fault is in the transformer.

Re: Outlaw Repair
Those resistors are already 5watt rating, anything higher and you might have a hard time fitting them properly as the 10watt resistors are 2" in length.

Re: TI1200.1
remove all the fets, clean up with 91% or higher isopropyl alcohol...check each gate resistor (if one is out of tolerance, replace all). Don't know what kind of paint that is but doubt it's conductive, however it may be corrosive and could cause damage to the smd component solder joints. Also removi...
Re: TI1200.1
Remove all the power supply fets, fet gate resistors, fets pre drivers, pwm IC (this amplifier has two power supplies that work together as one, both will need the same procedures).Once you remove all of those components check the output devices for any shorts, if you have shorts here then you might...

Re: Phoenix Gold Sapphire Amps
also, that other cluster of 4 larger caps that are not panasonic were not leaking but they looked cheap so I replaced them as well. In total theres 4 rail caps, 6 input filter caps, and 4 of those other ones, not entirely sure what they are for. I am going to take a guess that the 1.5x has two powe...

Yep sapphires require recapping as well, some even have the leaky caps in the secondary filter stage (rail caps).

Re: Mq430 help please
Thats a mod... Aleks mod which he added more winding to the primary side...BAD ASS if you ask me. You'd have to understand how the power supply works in order to understand why he did that, if you don't like it I have one without those extra windings that I don't mind trading you

Re: Mq430 help please
My guess would be that they did that to recapp it, lol. The 470uf caps are across the the two + and two - rails, I've seen 430's with it and some without it, can't remember but believe the later revisions didn't utilize them (left them black).

I got some of those fuse AGU fuse holders in gold plate, let me know how many you need. As for the resistors I think mine are also in a white ceramic in 5watt, I'll double check and let you know.

Re: the Post what you have for free thread
I just got a box of random stuff from Joerg. Inside it looks to be the stand offs for the plexi on a eq complete with 6 finger tightening screws and the aluminum pieces to hold the plexi off of the eq. I have no use for them, cover shipping and they are yours but I have been sick for some time and ...

Aavid is the manufacture and 575200B00000G is the part number. I didn't attach link because mouser and digikey may use different part numbers for their stock but same manufacture number.ttocs wrote:is that the manf?trickyricky wrote:575200B00000G from Aavid

Are you sure? Those on the smaller MS are for TO-92 (voltage regulators) and the ones on the 2250 are on the predrivers and are TO-126.RayBuck wrote:Those little heat sinks are in both my ms2250's

Re: mq430 rebuilds
I've got some of those heat sinks and also use them for those same regulators, for the -/+15v rails. I've seen some smaller MS amps with it and others without it, of course the bigger amps use a current limit resistor and 15v zener diodes for the -/+15v rails. As for the fuse you can go with a highe...

Re: ZX450 strange behavior
Another question is, are the channels experiencing issues...do they have the amp's xovers activated? I notice that the xover pot is a little tedious when near either end (fully clockwise or counterclockwise), if it's set at ByPass then never mind my comment, lol.
