I personally wouldn't worry about extra cooling. I run Xenons and have never had any overheating issues. And I live in the hot desert 8). If you ran the 400.1, then I would say your plans may benefit. But your 200.4s and 600.1s are golden in my opinion!

Oh, I'm jealous of you for being able to use those 9's. I just don't have room for them unless I do some seriuos custom work to my doors!

Would they do well even in an IB situation (with sound-deadening in doors)?

Fantastic seller! He even sent my TI elite tweeters a day earlier than I requested and dropped an x-tra 10$ off shipping at the same time.

Thank you :D

I'm using the Elite 6's with the stock passive XO. Cutoff frequency is 3KHz. Your XO points look very close to where you would be if running the passive. I'm running just under 240W (to the XO) with a Xenon 200.4 @4ohms. They sing nicely here. HP on amp is set at 130 Hz. I don't like using any lower...

I've been using an Alpine CDA-9807 for about 3 yrs. now. I bought it used on E-bay, so I have no idea how old it is. It did great for me until about 2 days ago when I experienced the RCA outputs "crapping out." So I pulled out my deck and found myself reading this post; getting close to pu...

I'm currently using 6.5 elites in sealed kick panels. I agree with everything people here have said; midrange is very powerful! Nice hard snap in the snare drum frequency. I would say mid-bass is there, just not with much authority!

I agree with Stipud (and Jed) on capacitors. Almost every electronic device has "filtering" caps to smooth out voltage ripple (AKA electromagnetic interference or noise). Running a huge power cable the length of your car can certainly be a beautiful way to pick up this sort of intereferenc...

X-over problem?

I'm fishing for a few ideas that you guys might come up with: X200.4 has a continuous "fuzzy scratchy" noise coming from the right speaker only when I have the lowpass x-over select button "off." When I press it in (on) it goes away. This happens on the rear set of channels only....

I've noticed quite a difference when using polyfill. It absolutely does reduce your box volume by absorbing acoustical energy (sound waves). If you're seeking a more sound quality oriented set-up than polyfill is the way to go. . .without it you have more "boom."

Also, what brand of 200A alts are you guys using?

. . .Looking to do a major power upgrade myself and the best alt I can find is a 180A Bosch ("factory-fit" replacement style), but for 440$

Df, I don't want this thread to end with the statement that this issue is NORMAL. It certainly is NOT and it can be remedied! Maybe this issue exists on many used amplifiers, but it shouldn't!! I've used a TI 800.1 and thought the fan noise was considerable. My Xenon fan noise = perfect silence. . ....

Just wanted to also add that IMO I would NEVER NEVER even think about touching the gain on this amp when you have your HU at full tilt. A distorted signal is being sent to the amp via RCA's at this point. Instead, you should set your HU volume up to about 7/8 of max, or about 30 to 31, listen for di...

Did you try switching around the RCA's like C suggested? And what about other signal processing equip.? Are you sure the Defeat is "off" on your HU and you're not somehow toggling it "on" when you adjust the volume button/knob? My Alpine HU toggles the defeat option on and off by...

I've been having this similar problem with mine. . . noise goes away after it gets warm in the car. Usually goes away after about a minute for me. The colder it is, the longer it takes to go away. No problems when it's warm outside. I was thinking bearings inside the fan need to be re-greased, but d...

Rsd vs. Titanium

Someone please do a comparison for Rsd and Titanium 12" subwoofers. Are they comparable? 20-50 Hz: which one is better? 50-80Hz: which one is better? (i.e. tighter and output level) I've never used them, but am getting very close to buying a couple Rsd 12's. Heard a (single) Titanium once a lon...
