Re: Xenon 100.4 bias pots
Thanks guys. Got a chance to measure the amp today, all 4channels come out between 11 and 12.5mv. Not too bad at all. I just found it odd that all he pots were set to the minimum value. I noticed the sound on my midranges but seems like my midbasses are doing it as well. Just not as much. I'm thinki...

Xenon 100.4 bias pots
Hey guys. I have 2 100.4's running my system, used to run the sub and midbass off one amp and the tweeters and midrange off the other. But recently i swaped the sub and midrange connections so that the midbass and midrange are on the same amp. I noticed that this amp sounds a bit scratchy on strong ...

Re: 900.7 Users
I think the best would be to see if the heat is coming from one of the opamps or all of them. If its all then it might be an issue on the power suppy side. Another thing is if the amp is going into thermal protection then it would be picking up the temp of the heatsink, so maybe check if the output ...

Xenon 600.1 cooling fan issues
Hey Guys Do the cooling fans on the xenon monoblocks activate on startup, like the multichannel amps do? Reason being is the fan on my 600.1 has never started up. Is this an issue or does it only activate when the amp is hot enough? If it is an issue where should i start looking? thanks in advance :...

I think that would be a clas abd amp, ha ha.
I get what you saying, but im not sure thats the best way to cap power or the easiest.

Re: Ported vs Sealed, lets open this can of worms. lol
audiophyle, i seem to have misunderstood you a little. I do completely agree that the sealed response will be lacking under 35hs due to the whole cabin gain thing. This is due to that hump in the response. Also i agree that the added low freq from a ported will make the sub 40 hz frequencies louder ...

Re: Ported vs Sealed, lets open this can of worms. lol
While i agree that a cabin does boost certain frequencies, as explioited by many spl people, there is also a steady gain in response as frequency drops. I've measured it a few times and what you see is a gain as freq drops, not exactly 12bd/oct but close. I have a graph created by andy at jbl that i...

Re: XE load - How does it work
Interesting thoughts there Eric, thanks for the info. If you are right then there is really nothing stopping a 200.4 giving a bridged 4 ohm sub up to 800wrms. Provided the other channels are not used or used at a low gain.
By the way, do you do the soundbuggy articles?

Re: Ported vs Sealed, lets open this can of worms. lol
I'm gona chip in with my thinking. The reason that sealed boxes work rather well for sq applications is that the rolloff roughly matches cabin gain for a car. This leaves you with a roughly flat frequency response and low group delay. Now just in terms of freq response most ported boxes would leave ...

Re: XE load - How does it work
Francious, I suspect that most of us run a similar configuration. Eric, I suspect you maybe right. I remember the soundbuggy articles that said sometheing about variable voltage regulators for the daughterboards. But if I remember the 2ch and 4ch amps had the same number of regulators. So bigest que...

XE load - How does it work
Hi guys So I Currently own 2 PG xenon amps, a 100.4 and a 200.4. Very impressed with these amps, clean and powerfull. I asked the following on one of the local forums but i was dricected here for more assistance. So I know the principals behind xe load and similar strategies by jl, etc. Basically th...
