I ran this amp at 2ohm mono for years and it worked very well.. yes, it did get warm and shut off. i added a small computer fan on top of it, blowing over the center of the amp and never had it go into thermal shutdown mode after that, this amp with 2 12" subs and a 70 watt amp powering 2 6x9's...
