Audio upgrade to BMW E60 sedan 2006
So ive got a new vehicle, it would seem i'm stuck with the factory stereo as it were, but i can upgrade the amplifier and speakers using speaker level worst case. Speakers factory i believe are 6" (under seat) 4" and tweeter doors, not to sure about rear deck speakers 4 or 5 inch? I have a...

All my collection is in mp3 320k format. I would recommend. This format is widely accepted.
It can read apple AAC format from iTunes but if you ever want to play it in another device your options may be limited.

Have you considered running front speakers active. Tweeters off front channels. Woofers off rear channels. Using you imprint crossovers.

Re: Phoenix Gold Elite.5 Sub Section GIAN setting
I have mine reasonably high. That means I have low settings at the head unit. If I need to show off I can crank it from head. I just went from a 4ohm to a 2ohm sub and sound output is noticeably different. Just set it where it works. All amps are different.

Re: Anyone here build their own computer?
So, for xmas the wife decided to get someone at work to build me a gaming PC! After we discovered streaming through Netflix/Hulu Plus/Aereo using the PS3's and the Roku we really didn't need a whole home PC anymore. So this was a pure gaming PC. My question is how did she do? I'm really green at th...

The boston more powerful and has greater movement by the looks. If you have both I would make a plate for the other sub and try it and listen. Listening wins all time. Specs are specs. Mmm my 2 cent

Re: old school 18" strokers
The 18 inch stroker was an amazing sounding sub and I believe I had approx 1200rms ish of power from a MTX amp which fed it to 140+ db. I was ultra impressed with the tightness of the sound. I believe in the dual spider design they had which gives it a sound no other 18 can give. This was the realis...

Re: Power Issue?
Hmmmm. I would have thought that it does not matter what batteries you put in as below. The issue I'm familiar with with 2 batteries in parralel is that they would unlikely sit at the same voltage so the higher voltage battery tries to charge the lower voltage battery. There is a risk of a see-saw c...

Good to see progress. Kudos to you I'm interested if you have sprayed in a shed before. I have a few times and it's just shit. I personally hire a professional booth to do my paint work. I repainted my subaru and the results are all that I hoped for. Minimal contamination of paint correct temperatur...

Re: amp recommendations
The elite .5 has a near 1200wrms at 1ohm sub section. If you can run 1 ohm config with your coils your be in luck plus it's class d for the sub so going to be less power suck from your cars power circuit per output power compared to running a class a/b circuit. One reason I was very keen to run this...

Hey For now the amps very usable and swapping the problem channel to the mids you wouldn't know there is any problem. Very possible it's just mine. Very possible also that someone else wouldn't notice the problem. I'm talking about turned on with no music and you can here noise out of one channel. I...

Cheers for info. Let's put it this way. I have a channel that's outputting a hiss and you can hear a squarky type sound. This is a single channel off the front section. Is not related to rcas, is not related to speaker. Hook a different speaker to that channel and you get the problem. Basically the ...

Elite .5 problem
Hey I thought I was enjoying my .5 amplifier but have just found it is hissing out of one of the channels without any rcas connected. At first I thought might be my head unit but alas no :(. All other channels seem quiet. I also am experiencing alternator wine but only with rcas so pretty much head ...
